Yeah I was thinking about that. It is stainless steel wool. If anything, I would just take some out.

Like I said, Ill leave it as is for now and give them a chance.

Just an update for anyone that cares (like Fast 380), went for a good ride today, so in total about 500 miles on the Crushers.

They are growing on me- I still wish they were louder at idle, but in every other situation they seem louder than my initial impression. Not sure if the packing has broke in already, or if it's in my head. Overall they sound pretty good with a lower (deeper) tone than the Fullsac's, and maybe a touch less volume (than the Fullsac's WITHOUT baffle material).

I will definitely keep them on for the rest of this season, and either later this fall or next spring I will make the trip down to PA to see my tuner and have a "clean up" tune done. It will be interesting to compare the curves/numbers between the Crushers and my original chart with the Fullsac's. Once I do that, I will have custom maps for both mufflers, so if I ever want to go back to the Fullsac's, I can simply flash my original map back in.

Thanks for the update NS. I miss the days when I bought exhaust because I liked the sound, not performance.... apparently you can't have both.

I also have the DX header and the Kury Crushers. I typically had louder pipes but on longer trips it was nice to be quieter especially for my better half. They give a good sound on throttle but are quieter at cruise and as you mentioned idle.

Any issues getting the OE heat shields aligned on the DX without any gaps?

Thanks for the update NS. I miss the days when I bought exhaust because I liked the sound, not performance.... apparently you can't have both.

That's the challenge. To me, the best sounding are the Rineharts because they have a larger 2.25" baffle. I also liked those because when I wanted to quiet them down for a trip or just for a change, I used to slide in the Fullsac screens and baffle material, which would quiet them down a bit while still sounding nice. But, as you know, for optimum performance you apparently can't go bigger than a 2" baffle, like the Fullsac's or the Crushers.

I think the Drago's you want to get rid of are louder than any 2" muffler/2-1-2 pipe set up, and also performs. No compromising there.

I'm content for now with the Crushers the more I ride with them. I'm supposed to be picking up my new iPhone 7 in the next day or 2, so I will try and record a high quality video of the sound.

No issues.  Everything fit back great and looks the same.

Well NS, any update? How about a couple pictures? I'm really curious how they look from the rear.... Looking straight down, from the rear and side.

Thanks!

Never really heard about these slip ons until I came to this site.  I think these are a great looking slip on and saw them/heard them in person at Daytona a few weeks back (standard and mellow versions).  The standard have a good bark to them without being obnoxious, but the mellows were a bit too quiet for my taste.  I love the looks of the trident tips. :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

Thinking about trying out some mellows. Just like it a little quieter but not willing to give up 5-10 on power don't mind a couple Anyone know how much the mellows hurt you on the Dyno? Know they have a baffle in them , just curious

According to Steve at GMR, you lose nothing with the mellows. I dont understand how that is possible when those mufflers have a big washer type insert with a small hole in them.

Steve is correct.

From what I have seen is that mellow's out perform regular crushers on the left side of the graph, but no noticeable performance difference above 4k.

Has anyone used these slip ons with a 124" build?  I was pretty set on a boarzilla, but really like the looks of these mufflers.  If so what headpipe did you use as well?  Does fullsac still make a stepped headpipe for big cube motors?

If the mufflers produce as they do on a stock motor I may not be loosing that much over the boarzilla and save a ton of money. Black boarzilla with ghost is in the $1800 range. :smilie_daumenneg:
