Low Production numbers of 2017 CVO'S ?
« on: September 13, 2016, 06:25:13 PM »

I heard HD is only making 31% of the amount of CVO'S they made last year. Any truth to this and why? Are sales down?  :nixweiss:

I don't know if it's true or not but some dealers still have new '15 CVOs on the floor. I'd have to say sales are down if it were me.

That's my guess too. I was considering buying a new slate color 16 RGU last night. They were taking $2000 off the MSRP and offering 1.99 financing thru Harley. I just couldn't see spending $38,000 on a bike that now has the old motor. There's good deals to be had right now on the 16's if any one's in the market.

Sales are down. Many years ago I remember if you were not friends of the dealer you had no chance of a CVO. I just got 10% off MSRP on a 2017 CVO Limited with no added BS fees.

Mind sharing the dealer that gave you that deal.  PM if necessary. Thanks.

Classic HD in Reading, Pa. if you are in the area. They don't have one in stock but told me they could have it at their dealership today. They are great to deal with. Ask for Danielle in sales

Olathe tried to sell me a 16 SG for $42.9 plus TT&L the end of June.  I laughed at them.

Paid 36 for a 2014 about two months after the 15's were out

They made offer. But also have found the 20 percent mark up to MSRP is really close to be true. So they still made 4K off deal but to be fair they sat on it six months.

CVOs still on showroom floors greatly depends on your market.  In Minnesota where their unemployment rate is much lower than other regions, CVOs are usually spoken for the moment it touches the showroom floor.

Same as in Canada. My experience is that you would be lucky to find any cvos on the floor when you walk into a dealership. They are usually sold before they get there.

That could all be relative to location (colder climate... less riding season) too... may mean dealers get a smaller allocation, which in turn could impact the amount of sales. They only get a few CVO's vs locations in better/longer riding season getting more. :nixweiss:
