« on: September 16, 2016, 12:10:49 PM »

Has anything been done to the bike recently? If so check that work. From your description, my guess would be to check all of the exhaust mounts and heat shields. Please note I said guess.

rear tire last Friday but rode about 200 miles last week end and about 25 miles round trip to work a couple of days before this started. have looked at all the bolts and nut that would have been involved but not put wrench on them.

They would have had to remove the slip on muffler for a rear tire job.
I would take a look at the muffler bracket and rubber mount, make sure it is secure and in the middle of the hanger.
The motor jockeying around would cause it to have metal on metal contact at the hanger without proper clearance.

Hi Easternrhino, last time I had a situation like yours it was on my 95 Heritage. Turned out to be a loose footboard. Hope this helps. CAHDBIKER
