I'm guessing you had the usual Harley valve train noise and now it appears to be getting louder the past 100 miles. My story I brought my to the dealer complaining of lifter noise, the tech took it for a ride and told me it was pinging due to the ambient temperature and documented such along with no mechanical issues, which I knew was incorrect and was charged 62.50. Went home dumped the oil, the oil plug looked like a Chia Pet with all the metal on it, I had to wipe it 3 times with a shop rag to find the magnet. Called the Dealership to report my findings and was told by the Service Manager they stand behind the techs assessment. Three weeks later, bike towed into dealership, lifter exploded in the bottom of engine case. ESP is covering the engine rebuild cost in excess of 5900.00.
Mine was ticking loudly at the beginning, can you check the oil plug for metal?
