Screamin Eagle Pro Street Turner vs TTS
« on: October 06, 2016, 09:41:34 AM »

I have been reading about the SEPST and trying to differentiate between it and the TTS Mastertune.

I have used the TTS on my past 4 bikes and have some knowledge of it how to use it, but have not been able to find functions that SEPST doesn't do.

So I was hoping that some of you guys that live in the tuning world could enlighten me.

The one thing that I did find out is that TTS's map files xxxx.MT9 can not be viewed/downloaded/modified using the SEPST or other Harley Digital Tools.

The Street Tuner is not in the same league as TTS.  Maybe you're referring to the now obsolete Super Tuner?  There are still many more features with TTS.  TTS allows speedometer corrections for gearing changes, EGR adjustments, options to tune via MAP or TPS among other features.
The Street tuner is Harley's way to keep the EPA happy and that's about all.

I'm referring to the Screaming Eagle Pro Steet Turner which is the black dongle that HD is marketing now.

Has VE, AF, TA tables, Data recording, Tuning......and more.

Not sure about RPM and speed limiters.

Wondering what the HD turner is missing that a typical touring enthusiast could want, apposed to the functions that would typically be for racing. Or does the TTS just have better software with better tuning algorithms ?

Pro Street tuner, from the web site only stores 15min of run time data. I cant make it to a normal cruising speed zone in 15min from my house.
TTS Flight recorder store up to 10hrs of data. plus has more options for tuning,

From HD Site, Pro Street Tuner*Permits tunablility to optimize performance and drivability without compromising fuel efficiency, emission levels, engine durability, or 50 state US EPA compliance*
that screams basic stage one downloader of old to me with some bells and whistles. not a true tuner.

Personally I like the TTS have it on my Vrod and used the flight recorder to tune it. Rode for hours solo and two up before making the final tune just up dated it after each day trip till it was good.

I do have the old full Pro Race tuner on my CVO but don't have the software for it. my dyno guy likes the TTS better because of the more available options that come with it.

But if you worry about your warranty I would either leave it alone of go with the HD tuner just for the warranty.

For $300 you can buy the Street Tuner, which by law cannot alter any settings in the areas that affect emissions regulation compliance, or you can pay $400 for the full featured TTS product.  Seems like a no brainer to me, but there again it's not my money or my bike.  I just like to buy something once, not twice, and IF you come across an issue where you need the capabilities of the TTS system you will be out an extra $300 versus just buying the TTS in the first place.  You can't sell that Street Tuner after it's been used, so it becomes a $300 paperweight.

Screaming Eagle Pro Steet Turner can not remove the speed limiter, can not change the air/fuel ratio, can not change the timing, can not correct the speedometer, can not change the rev limiter.

The TTS can do all the above.  And all the above have been used every time I have had a bike tuned.
