Bluetooth connectivity to phone (15 CVO SG)
« on: October 12, 2016, 08:36:04 PM »

So it seems that every time I start the bike, I need to go to COMM and enable the Bluetooth.  It initializes, which sometimes takes as little as 30 seconds or as long as 2 minutes.  Then I select the checkmark for Bluetooth and that also takes as little as 30 sec or as long as 2 minutes to initialize.  Strange.  After that, I select my phone and pairs just fine.

2nd question is..... Do I have to go thru this process every time I start the bike?  Is there a setting that will automatically search for my phone or a setting that will at least have the Bluetooth preset to on rather than having to initialize it every time?

Something else I am realizing.  When I select the checked box for Bluetooth, (just above List Paired Devices), it doesn't stay checked after I shut down the bike.  I have to go and re-enable it every time....  I don't think that's correct.

The check box to enable blutooth should stay checked
once i set it up on my bike I have never touched it again when my phone is with in range it just pairs and syncs the contact list

What phone are you using
Have you tried a factory reset

My phone is the Samsung Galaxy S7.  And that's what I thought also, once you check the Bluetooth box is should stay checked.  But it doesn't.  I hope maybe this latest update (which I just did last 2 nights ago) may change that?

When you ask about a factory reset do you mean the phone or on the bike?  Phone is brand new.  3 weeks old.

So I understand correctly, when you start your bike, does your phone automatically pair with the Boom Audio or do you still have to go into COMM and connect phone even though Bluetooth check box is checked?
Since my latest software update, I turned the bike on, went to COMM and Bluetooth was already checked off, after it was initialized, but still had to select my phone.  Tried the 3 times and checked box was still checked.  Does this seem right?  I still needed to select my phone each time...

No you should not have to touch the bike after Blutooth is set up and you paired the phone the first time as long as you make no changes to the bikes blutooths system.

If I shut my bike off walk away come back to the bike start it up my phone pairs and then on the bike screen it will show syncing contacts some times this fails but the bike and phone are still paired and will work. I am looking for a way to stop the syncing because it introduces  a delay in startup of the system you can hit exit I don't need my phone contacts on the bike.

Just a note on my old phone I never seen the syncing contacts so I don't know if that was the phone or the last update I just started using a new Moto G4 Plus phone about a month ago

There have been a couple of occasions that I started the bike and the phone was already connected.  But most of the time I have to do it which makes no sense.  I get in my car, start it and voila, it's connected.  I assumed it would have been the same for Harley.  You confirmed this much.

I would look on  the bike next time it does not pair and see if your phone still shows in the list of allowed phones or devices

Just thought of something. Is there a setting on the phone to allow or not allow auto pairing on a connection bases.

Also don't forget there is a whole lot going on when the system is booting stereo boot, Nav boot Blutooth boot
ECM Boot voice Rec boot and few I have forgot it may be just a timing issue.
