2014 CVO Limited Speaker Replacement Procedure
« on: October 16, 2016, 12:01:32 PM »

Anyone have a link to the procedure to replace a RF speaker? Pretty depressing that after I'm having to replace a speaker that doesn't work at all on this bike. The infotainment system has been nothing but issues since the bike was new now the the warranty is out the stealer wants $300 to replace one speaker.  Speakers unless blown should last a lifetime mine made it 10k miles and 3yrs.

Any suggestions on what speaker I should replace it with that maybe is a better quality?

This is a pretty easy deal. Just remove outer fairing, remove and replace speaker. If you need it there is a YouTube for about everything now. I checked and got countless "How To" remove fairing, how to this etc. I did have a speaker & amp fail on my 15 RG. Happens occassionally.
Good luck.

Hey Garettn:

I have been inside my 2014 Limited a couple of times.  First, are you positive it's the speaker?

I have had one blown (when brand new a couple of years ago) and this latest issue which I thought was a speaker was actually the amp.  Hooray for ESP!

Be that as it may, it is pretty easy to get the fairing off.  Use the old thick sock trick on the running lamps to avoid scratches.  As I recall, headlight is only electrical connect.

As far as the speakers, there a couple of REALLY persnickety bolts waaaay up underneath between the forks you need to get to in order to remove the white plastic things.  I hate engineers!  Anyway, you will definitely want a flex / knuckle for your socket to get to that little bugger.

Other than that, it is pretty straight forward.  Hope that helps.

On a FLHTKSE it is a big deal. It takes about an hour to change each one. I know first hand as I just upgraded my entire system. Meaning amp and four speakers. And I couldn't be happier!!!!

You upgraded everything from the CVO setup? What speakers did you put back?
