S&S Lifters
« on: October 17, 2016, 11:51:18 PM »

I'm changing out the stock lifters on my 110" RGUSE at 15000 mi. I'm going to the S&S lifters, the less expensive ones. Does anyone here know how many miles I can expect to get out of a set of these? Is there any benefit to going with the more expensive S&S lifters. I seldom twist the engine over 4000 rpm and change the oil at 5000 mi intervals with a good 20w50 synthetic. My bike is stock except for the exhaust. Thanks in advance.

I don't know the answer to your question, but it's probably a good thing you're changing them out now. I have a '14 CVO Road King with 17k miles on it and I just installed the Rock Outs kit and since I was there I decided to take a peek at the lifters. Glad I did. The front cylinder lifters looked perfect, the rear cylinder lifters both had a spotty frosted appearance and the cam has some marking that you can see but not really feel just yet. I also take care of my bike, don't abuse it and is totally stock. I did install the S+S premium lifters because I figured they should be about as good as it gets, hopefully I dodged a bullet for a while.

I have not used the product, but have seen many reputable members on here comment that the S&S standard lifters are more than adequate. I'm sure one of em' will chime in.

What do you mean when you say you are going with the less expensive S & S Lifters; the ones without limiters or not the Premium Lifters?
