HELLO;  THEY  ONLY  CHANGE  THE " CVO'S "  PAINTERS  from  time  to  time and  qite often  it  is  year  to  year ..  but  they  will  usually  come  back  to  the  same  from  time to  time...  it  is  to  save the model  from  getting  copied.... this is a  fact  from  a  white collar  employee   that  is in  the $600,000  annually  range...believe me i am  trying  my  best to  get  a copy of  the paint  not even  the  code.. thanks

Hello golaith69,

Here's my '06 SEUC in it's latest look. My painter did an awesome job matching the autumn haze paint - right down to the red glass fleck most of us would never even notice. I'm very please with the way it turned out and can't wait to hit the road.

No, unfortunately, the stock backrest pad only works on the leather wrapped tour pak. H-D does offer one however just for us guys switching over to hard tour paks!@#&*#@! Guess they anticipated some of us wouldn't like the leather T/P and would need a backrest pad. The part number is 51725-06.

I think it's sad that the MoCo evidently doesn't even want to know what it's customers want.  It's too bad THEY don't read this site.  The biggest complaint I have about my '06 USE is the smallish leather tour pac.  There have been numerous previous responses that indicate the same feelings.  Personally, I don't care for the leather, the small size, and the fact you can't have a nice top bag like they make for the King TourPac.  In fact I'm seriously considering getting an '08 Ultra (non-SE) and adding a few things I like so I can pack stuff when I go on trips.  -Just my 2 cents.   :nervous:  -Steve

Just  my opinion but I think the SE motorcycles offer so much more. Whether it's power, unique features or just plain lookin' good, owning an SE Harley Davidson sets you apart from the crowd. Your personal preference on tour paks is an easy fix and sure not enough of a reason to not buy an SE. I know the MOCO gave us the leather tour pak because it was unique (and a lot of the members of this group love it) but it's so easy to change, I sure wouldn't sacrifice the rest of the SE features. I personally felt my leather tour pak was worthless. It is inadequate for packing, too small for most top luggage and the loose leather workmanship is pitifully. Now that I've switched mine out, I'm completely satisfied. By the way, I still have the leather T/P stored away. I haven't decided what to do with it yet.

Buy tour pack off ebay and have a painter paint it. A good painter can match the colors to where nobody can tell the difference. I personally have seen a couple of the leather tourpacks on ebay. Its a personal preference thing.  I dont like the leather, the moco tried the leather tp for what reason I dont know but, hey at least they change things up. I end up personalizing to my own tastes anyway. No matter what I buy.

I've got a otherwise stock 06' Blk Ultra Classic and would like to have a SE Ultra leather TP and would be willing to swap TP's
I'd be willing to bet that the two would interchange with each other.
I would also like to purchase one out right if your looking to do a swap and special order one...

When you pay over list for an outdated model, I just wish I would have kept the 20G I paid plus my 95 inch Ultra, for an nonfunctional touring bike.  I agree the bike is very cool, but look at what you have to do to it to make it what it should have been!  It's supposed to be a touring bike.  It's half way there.  I've had hopped up Evos that could knock the dog squatting piss out of my bike.  You need new heads, new cams, new pipes, new ignitions, an aftermarket aircleaner kit, what ever else- just to have it run right.  -It seems that it's almost impossible to find an exhaust system that is reasonably quiet- yet allowes the engine to breath enough to make a reasonable 100 hp/tq.  My old '00 Ultra was a much better bike.  It had an MP3 plug in to the stereo.  My stereo is still screwed up, and it's been replaced once.  The dealer said they have had a lot of problems with the system in the new bikes.  This is my 7th Electra Glide, I've loved most of them, but for a CVO this bike doesn't measure up.  I'll probably put a gear drive cam system in it and give up on finding what I wish HD would make.  -Like I've said before, too bad the MoCo doesn't give us what we want.  I'll also have to spring for a Baker 6 speed tranny.  Oh well, I still have my '01 Heritage Classic with big bore, Branch heads, S&S gear drive cams, 45 mm Mikuni carb, White Bros. E series 2-1 exhaust, etc. that I can really enjoy when I want to ride a "real" motorcycle.
On a positive note, the extra chrome is nice.   :coolblue:  the SG
