Ricor valves - oil quantity
« on: November 07, 2016, 07:02:02 PM »

Several years ago we did a group buy on Ricor front fork valves - Intimidators. I need to change the fork oil and Ricor calls go to voice mail and they havent returned emails either. I can't locate the install instructions, so I'm hoping someone can tell me how much oil to refill. I do remember it was a 5wt oil, but don't remember if it was the Harley spec of 10.8oz or a different Ricor spec.

CRS disease sucks!

Thanks

UPDATE - Finally got through to Ricor - problem solved

I have 10 oz per side.  20 oz total.   Is that correct?

As per my '08 Touring Models Service manual - "All models EXCEPT Road King 10.8oz, Road King 11.1oz"

When I got through to tech support at Ricor, they confirmed the factory quantity of 10.8oz for my '08 RG. That's what I filled to using a graduated cylinder, and so far everything is working great! Just a reminder - add half the oil then cycle the fork a few times before adding the remainder SLOWLY. I had a rude awakening and had to clean the garage floor because of this oversight...

It's easy, just have to remove parts to get to the fork caps.  I replaced the cap seals while I was in it, only a few bucks.

Good luck
