Never saw one, but sounds like a great idea..........if it works!? Rarely takes me over 2 tries, but do I have it exact?? Somebody needs to try it out and report back.

Just wondering if the belt tension is really all that critical.  On all the new bikes I've had, including my 2017 CVO Limited, the belt is very tight as it comes from the factory.  I know they will do an initial stretch but after 5,500 miles it is still pretty tight.  Same thing whenever the dealer has replaced a tire.  They adjust the belt tension on the tight side.  Now being way too loose is a real problem so imo better a little tight than way loose.

Over the years I've tried the Harley tool but discontinued using it and just adjust the belt by look and feel as to how much slack to allow.  Never ever had a problem.  This device does look promising and if it really works I can see using it.  Hope someone will try it soon and report back.

I don't see the need myself, since the official Harley method and tool works just fine.  It's not like you have to actually adjust belt tension that often anyway (check yes, but most of the time it doesn't change much if any between service intervals after the first 5k).  Watch the little video and note they don't mention using the tool to just check the tension, but instead they start out by loosening the axle and backing off the adjusters before installing the tool and then tightening the adjusters until the belt is "tight".  How tight is tight?  Oh yeah, isn't that why a tool is needed, to eliminate the huge variation among folks doing the adjustment and what they "feel" is "tight"?  It's much easier to just use the ten pound force gauge IMHO.

Years back, when working on motors with belts, I used one similar one to it.  However, it had a tension gauge built into it.  With this one your still adjusting the wheel travel until it feels tight?  Not sure how accurate it would ever be.

A little of topic but since I put the S&S 124" motor in the 08 SERK I can't keep the belt tension right.  I did do the 30 tooth front sprocket quite a few years ago but I have to adjust my belt as it loosens as quickly as 500 to 750 miles.  It's a pain to adjust because I have to loosen the cans and remove the right Bitubo shock as it is in the way. I don't do burnout but I'm on the throttle once the bike is moving. I'm currently looking into the cam replacement kits that are available for 09 & later as well as going to a chain drive, hoping it can be modified to my 08.  About 3 years ago I purchased the laser level & the two laser units that have the magnet for the rotors to do the laser alignment procedure from the video made by Glide Pro.  It did take me about 16 hours to get it right but it was soon apparent that the axle adjustment was off from one side to the other.  The old method or the method the metrics use is far more accurate to move the wheel where it needs to be.  I believe one of the cams makes contact before the other judging by experimenting using a shim on the right side.  Winter project!!!  Might help make the tires last longer if it is aligned properly.  Truly learning a lot keeping this bike going.

I thought the same thing as Jerry when watching the video, how tight is tight? Seems if belt tension is that critical then it would be better defined for the use of the product.
