2017 107 8 valve dyno test! Stock VS Stage
« on: November 11, 2016, 08:09:08 PM »

Here's a before and after dyno test with one of our new Headpipes on the 2017 8 valve 107. Working with four different configurations at the moment.
Big TQ way early, 100 Ft pounds at 2K. Pretty flat after that with the stock cam.
Actually sounds like a Harley with the cat removed. New cam next week! :2vrolijk_21:
And then the testing starts all over again.

This chart
showroom stock 107 VS Stage I, prototype MX Pipe, 1.75 CVO mufflers, SE Heavy Breather. Tuned with TTS.

Steve the chart looks great , but I have a question ,, You have a pipe for the now older twin cams call a DX would it be easier for everyone to order the new pipes if they where named something like MX for the Milwaukee eight?? Just a thought..

They would be real easy to order if they were finished. :drummer:

MX Pipe. I like that! I'll call a staff meeting and see what the big dogs think?

Thanks!

Looks good Steve!  Was the stock run tuned or as delivered?  Got a buddy that traded his new (7000 miles) 2015 / 103 trike for 2016 / 107 trike after taking a test ride.  Says the difference in bottom end is not to be believed.

Thats pretty nice Steve.  How much of that gain was the heavy Breather?  The numbers are really pretty nice, especially the torque down low.

What cam you going to use?  One of the HD ones or are you having one designed for the 107?

Diamond.
The stock run I posted was untuned. TTS  currently comes with a tune for a completely stock bike but I never loaded it. The gains are small, its more about driveability. The mapping in the stock bike is very emissions driven on the lower end and then pig rich at full throttle. The throttle blade setting on the factory map were way too sensitive for me off idle. I slowed mine way down the first 15% of opening and really smoothed out the on off transition. The bottom end power gain over the TC is huge. Rode about 80 miles on it yesterday out of the dyno room, I really enjoy how quiet the new motor is. Currently have a prototype MX Pipe, (Thanks George) with 2016 heatshields strapped on, they almost fit, 2016 CVO mufflers with 1.75 baffles, and  a Heavy Breather AC. Even with open exhaust, overall DB level at 75 MPH is substantially reduced all due to the lack of engine racket. The Heavy Breather did add intake noise when accelerating hard, but isn't noticed at cruise.
Dave
The shorty air filter on the HB did show a 1HP loss. Elbow only zero loss. The stock 107 AC was a 4 HP loss. I'm sure the stock 114 Ventilator style AC is still a 3 HP loss as always.

That is a good name. I think a complimentary Fullsac t-shirt is in order for George  :pepper:
