It's bad news up there. Won't be the same after this. Lost the chair lift, many buildings. Fortunately, no lives as of yet. I'm just over an hour south and smell the fires every day.

They are all already in my thoughts and prayers. I was in the area in 2004 and it was one of the most beautiful places I had ever seen. Bought out daughter her first leathers when we drove thru Cherokee during their rally that year.

And for riders going through there come springtime, don't forget that this happened. You all get a lot more rain there than we do out here and those burn scars have a nasty tendency to slide out.

simon, they do have the aircraft and the out of state firefighters. good news is a lot of rain forecast tonite. try wbir channel 10 , wate channel 6 or wvlt channel 8 knoxville websites.

my girl and I was there this summer, end of June, and will say it was amazing. mother nature has a way of taking care of things, just hope every one will be ok

We were just there couple weeks ago to see the Christmas light come on this has been out get away area for years and its going to be so sad to see after this. Have to be in Ashville on Monday as much as hate to see will have to go through there. If can

Now three lives have been lost in the Gatlinburg area.  This is really tragic, such a beautiful area, and really my normal riding areas.  Lots of the TN fires have been arson.  In my area you have been able to smell the smoke for three weeks now.
