warm weather rides in February
« on: December 19, 2016, 10:51:22 AM »

Looking for some advice here folks. Cold as hell here in southern Ontario, Canada so I am thinking myself and a few buddies will pack our bags in February sometime and head southwest to do some winter riding. We have bikes available thru Eagleriders and they have outlets in San Diego, Palm Springs and Las Vegas amongst other outlets that are i expect will be in cooler climates. WE are thinking about 5-7 day of riding. First of all, we are content with 60 degree plus weather during the day and of course only ride during the day, with time set aside for site seeing, etc. any advice, ideas, suggestions? Thanks

It doesn't get any further southwest than San Diego....where it was 34F when I woke up this morning.  But our pool is heated to 80F year around so come on down! :bananarock:

You could also check out rentals directly from San Diego Harley.  They treated me and my buddies really well and we went back and rented from them 3 or 4 winters in a row.  Current year bikes and a really competitive price

Thanks for the advice but the four of us are all Eaglerider members, so we will get bikes from them.

Not that you will enjoy multiple days in a row, but I have always managed to ride on nice sunny days EVERY month of the year here in beautiful Ontario.

No doubt you will enjoy your S/W trip immensely.

Have fun and ride safe!

I suggest you head south visiting Hoover Dam, Laughlin, Oatman and Lake Havasu, Arizona on your way to Palm Springs via Joshua Tree N.P.  From there San Diego is a hope, skip & jump.  After that head north up the coast cruise along Venice Beach, and Sunset Blvd, before heading to Death Valley and back to Vegas.

Lots to see & do along the way and should be good temps wherever you go along that general route.

Ride safe.

Hey Thanks Grizzly for all the advice, i will be sure to check these out. Ideally we are hoping to avoid the cities, and keep to the backroads.
