Saddlebag liners
« on: December 23, 2016, 03:50:17 PM »

I'm looking around and I don't see any options for saddlebag liners for late model extended saddlebags, do we have an option that fits? Even further, how about one that fits the saddlebags with the boom amp in the left bag?

Thx for any help.

I couldn't find any, so I bought a generic set on eBay and had the custom installed by my upholsterer...

I did similar. Except I just attached with self stick Velcro for ease of removal. Works great....

SDCVO  While they look awesome, I have noticed that there is water getting into the bags, minor but they are not water tight, so I would be very concerned that my nice cloth liners would get wet and mold etc.

I will say though when I got caught in that epic storm in OR when I picked up my bike the bags did not leak at all. Just thought off that..

We took the bike to dinner one nights(16 SGS with HD liners). Italian joint in New Smyrna called "The Garlic". She had some leftover puttanesca  in a box and bagged... it leaked...HOLY SHIAT was I glad they slid out...got in the garage and opened the bag lid..LOL. I really do not like the smell of puttanesca.

I purchased the standard liners for the Street Glide and just trimmed them to fit, the side with the amp, you have to trim almost the whole back off, but they tuck in nice behind the amp, also just cut out for the wiring harness for the speakers.

Can you post a picture of the bags you trimmed. My liners seem to fit in but not flat against the sides but enough that I can use them as bags. I can't see them getting hung on the mounting hardware

I need to get more Velcro to attach them a little tighter against the bags, but I think the turned out good, I hope this answers your question.

Great thanks.  I guess I think of it more as a bag than a liner and a bag doesn't need holes in it but then again using is a bag I don't need it to lie flat against all sides
