I'm brand-spanking new(be) to this site.  I enjoyed the owner's satisfaction poll and reading the results.  Thanks!  I have a '04 Colbalt SEEG with 22K miles and getting ready for the spring run to Daytona.  Since I'm in NC it's just a good day's haul.  I've really been pleased w/ this bike (only had a few electrical malfunctions and a slow leak tire and other nuisance type problems.  Nothing to make me dislike the overall experience of owing and riding this "sweet" ride.........It will put "a smile on your face".  spydglide

spydglide, welcome to the site!  Glad you enjoyed the reading the poll and results here.  If you think this thread was good, then grab ya a cold one 'cause you're gonna be here awhile.

While the total number of respondants to this poll has grown steadily since it was begun, the overall satisfaction has remained pretty steady at right around 80%.  Pretty strong numbers, I think, especially with the vast majority of that falling into the "ecstatic" category.  We are truly blessed to be owners of such a fabulous ride.

spydglide, don't forget to check out the threads on the 2005 CVO Smoky Mountain Gathering.  See the link in my signature for all the details.  Hope to see you there!!!

I voted verry satisfied!  With that said, my 04 pumkin has had a couple problems.  About six weeks from purchace (2000 mi.) it had a front cylinder replaced under waranty.  I have some chrome peeling on the front wheel, sone that will be replaced under waranty.  The bike looks and rides great and won two trophys at bike shows.  When I saw it at the 100th aniversery in Millwaukee I told my wife, If I ever trade my Ultra.......it will be for that Orange and Black Screamn Eagle! My SEEG is still relatively new to me, but as of now, I'm extremely satisfied, the more I ride it, the more I'm liking it. [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

I've had the bike for a week now. Rode 2 days to Maggie Valley last Fri/Sat and got side tracked. Came home with 1100 miles on it [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]. I'm very pleased with the overall bike and performance  [smiley=thumbsup.gif] running stock for the break-in period. Should get my Freedom pipes this week and some other goodies  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]. I'm thinking it can only get better from here on.
Just want to say I'm happy I found this site (on a fluke search) and it's proven to have invaluable information, great people and fun too  [smiley=beerchug.gif].

Very Disatisfied.
1 - Lost more than one pint of oil on ride home from dealer; front rocker box cover installed backward, blew fine mist of oil all over bike and all over me.
2 - Trans shift effort and noise is the worst of any bike I've ever owned.  Had to bleed clutch 3 times to get clutch to release properly, still did not correct effort and noise.
3 - Failed to crank after sitting two days, traced to Tour-Pak light which sticks "on".
4 - Came within a gnats-a__ of running out of fuel, with the gauge sitting on 1/4.
5 - Fuel Injection calibration is a joke aimed only at getting past the EPA in the cheapest possible way.  Bike doesn't start or starts and immediately stalls at temps below 55 degrees.  Stumble/hesitation/surge/poor idle quality.
6 - Paint flaws, largest being a one inch "crack" in the paint on the Tour-Pak lid.
7 - All of the gauges are a joke.  The information provided would be just as accurate if the needles were painted on the faces.
8 - Worst seat I've ever owned in forty years of riding - feels like I'm sitting directly on the frame.  The suspension is less comfortable than the one on my FXDX.
9 - Many other fit & finish, squeak and rattle, etc. items.

This bike was built in January 2005 and purchased on March 29th.  I only recently found this site, and I'm finding that all of these quality issues are very common.  The fact that these items have existed from day one and are still being shipped out the door by H-D really ticks me off.  This cavalier attitude toward their customers will be the downfall of the Motor Company.  When all of us "old farts" who remain loyal regardless of how they treat us are gone, Harley is going to have one heck of a time selling this junk to people who grew up on higher tech and better quality Japanese bikes.  I could have spent considerably less on a Japanese touring bike with higher quality, a smoother and more powerful powertrain, and much more modern technology.  If much more goes wrong with this SEEG, perhaps I will.

I would be classified as a "Young" SEEG owner....After owning a Fat Boy for two years the SEEG was introduced....This was the right bike for me....Bigger motor, lowered,  radio, bags, and a paint scheme that gets the attention I need....I get teased that I bought an "old man's" bike due to my age (jealousy I suppose).....I am very pleased with my SEEG because I knew what to expect when I purchased it......Nobody ever said that this bike was made to be the ultimate touring bike (thats why they make the Ultra).....Going from a soft tail to the SEEG is like riding my sofa...... And to this date I am very very pleased with everything this bike has to offer......
