Mecum Motorcycle Auction
« on: January 31, 2017, 10:47:29 PM »

Guess Mecum has a motorcycle auction in Vegas this year. Sitting here watching it on NBCSN and getting a look at a lot of history going across the stage. Getting an education while at it also. Hopefully they will broadcast this again being I missed some of it

Mecum bought Mid-America Auctions which held a Antique Motorcycle Auction the first week of January for years. Mid-America auctioned about 500 antique and collector bikes in 3 days. Mecum changed the date to the 3rd week in January and let anything in, so they had over 1000 bikes in 4 days. There were CVO's in the auction and more Japanese bikes than ever. I have been collect Classic Muscle Bikes for years and I have never seen higher prices. Some bikes like Triumphs and muscle bikes doubled at this auction. I think the date helped, not so close to the holidays, and there were more international buyers. It will be replayed. I will be taking a load from my collection next year. Here is to hoping the prices stay high!

For me being not overly educated on a lot of the older bikes like those that are true collector's it was interesting to see so much of the old iron both the US side and the British side

I believe they had this on YouTube streaming live.  I watched some of Saturday evening's bikes.  It was amazing to see the old mini-bikes and others from the 70's.  Sure brought back a lot of memories.
