While at Daytona Bike Week this year my buddy's 2014 CVO Road King began triggering the Check Engine Light and Entering Limp Mode intermittently.   We started diagnosing it this weekend.    Found that the red wire on the upper connector in Frt of the Tank behind the headlamp nacelle on the left hand side (seated on bike) had flexed and broken.    By jiggling the harness on the left side we were able to get the code to set and idle to miss a beat,  that led us to the wire.  Since when parked the forks turn completely to the left,  I can see how this might be pretty common.    Hopefully this helps others that might encounter the issue.    This was a Road King but I can imagine this could happen on any of our bikes.     Pics to follow.

Good to know - thanks.  Made me check mine and it looks fine after 7K miles.  It seems weird that your other 5 wires are fine and it was just the one with such damage.

This bike had 22,000 miles.   Never been apart.   All Stock.     Handlebars and Lamps are all stock and he bought the bike new...   The wire had a clean break through insulator and all.    NOTE   The fuzzy stuff that you see that looks like wire is actually threads from the black sheathing,  the break in the wire was clean and was touching intermittently...
