This may be all I need. Maybe I should open her up and see what the tappets/cams look like first then order parts. Some say you need to watch the inner cam bearing if that needs to be done I will probably take it to my stealer. I don't have the bearing tools or the oil pump centering tool.
What is the difference in the S&S standard and race lifter besides the price? Has anyone had first hand experience with both?

The MoCo itself changed both the inner cam bearings and the lifters in the CVO110 engines for the 2013 model year due to all the failures of those parts in previous model year 110's.  If I owned a 110 it would have had both upgraded as soon as I realized they were having serious issues, regardless of miles.  I suggest you do the same.  This is a lot more important than just worrying about a ticking noise at 2800 rpm (which seems to be pretty common btw).  Go ahead and check the rocker shafts for looseness and signs of contact, and if you have an issue there are several ways to correct the problem including the inexpensive Rocker Lockers.  But the rocker shafts aren't going to destroy your engine like the lifters and cam bearing can.

It looks like I am going to do the tappets for sure S&S standards seem to be the preferred brand. If I buy the low profile wrenches will the OEM pushrods be the correct length? Then as long as the rocker covers are off I might as well put on the rocker lockers. If these push tubes will fit which I assume they should I should be able to get both items crossed off my list and not worry this year when we are on vacation.
Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions!

Yes pushrods will still be correct. Changing lifters will not effect that. Cams on the other hand could

S&S "standard", Harley "B" lifters, and Fueling (all the same Delphi mfg) all good.  S&S premium and Harley Delphi mfg SE lifters better.  Jims are even better yet but also more expensive.

Try rocker lockers on the top.  Last, Torrington inner cam bearings.  Then you'll be set for awhile.
I can tell you the Jim's tappets are noisy. I ran them for the first 1000 miles and swapped em out for HD B's. Good luck on your choice. I have a Jim's 131 motor.

Has anybody noted the amount of oil at the top end with these aftermarket tappets? Or are they all the same?

I drilled the drains a bit. They are very tiny and I think might be unable to get the oil out fast enough. I'm no expert though. I do pretty good maintenance but, even so, I did have some crud in one and it was enough to hinder or stop the drain. Knock on wood the carry over to the air cleaner is better now. I did the S&S premiums and S&S oil pump, cam plate, etc. while I was in there. I still have some noise at cold start up but much better otherwise. The bike runs better with the changes too, but that might be my imagination. :)

This is the exactly what I just did, but I also changed the valve springs to S&S beehive style. It is extremely easy to do. There is a valve spring compression tool that allows you remove/install the springs without having to remove the heads.

S&S Valve Spring Kit #900-0593
I also replaced the valve seals but bought them from HD

Can anyone tell me if the 2009 CVO 110 engine also have the cheap inner cam bearings and should be replaced? If so where to get them? Thanks

My 07 FLHRSE3 still had the cheaper bearings (part no 9512), which still shows on later models, the Harley part number for the B-168 torringtons is 24018-10, get them for piece of mind, only about $15.

Yes, it came stock with the cheaper bearings. You will want to change them to the Torrington B168 (if memory serves me correctly) and also swap out the stock lifters if you haven't done so already. (I went with S&S premium) Both items can be found on-line or at your local parts supplier.
