The Sickness Continues..
« on: May 22, 2017, 11:35:46 PM »

I guess I just can't help myself. When I got my Streetglide I promised myself I wouldn't go crazy and would leave the suspension alone especially since HD upgraded it. Though it is definitely better than the former stock suspension, a couple of weeks ago I rode the Streetglide on Saturday and the 12 Roadglide on the same path Sunday with the Ohlin suspension. As soon as I got home I reached out to Howard at Motorcycle Metal (guy works 7 days a week and aways answers his phone).
Though I am pissed at myself for giving in to my "problem", I am fired up about getting g them on this week and playing with them this weekend!

Alan,

Let me know how it is. I've had Howard's set on my rear for a couple of years now, and can't wait to do the front.

:huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:  I knew it was only a matter of time Alan!   :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:   I watch you and I'm looking back at myself 10-15 years ago.  I would have sold my soul to keep up with the mods.  Jim was happy......he'd clear space in his shop as he saw me coming up the street.  I just couldn't help myself.  :nervous:    So I understand and empathize with your "problem".

Where are you riding to this weekend?  I might be up for a ride on Sat?

Wife hates it but who cares. I don't. Let her Bitching bother me too much, if it does I go for a Ride and I feel much Better!

Well, in that case.....we better not let you lead.  :huepfenlol2:

But then......how are you going to test those new shocks if you don't hit a few goat trails?  :nixweiss:

SDCVO - I noticed remote reservoirs in the pictures.   On the streetglide you are putting them on you may have to grind off a small bracket on the primary side of the bike.   My SG had a bracket that needed to be removed.   Small grinder and some clear nail polish and all was good in about 5 minutes.

I don't know if your year SG has this but you may want to check the height of the tube if you have the antenna mount near the shock mount.   If you do the the tube tends to want to rub on the antenna mount if you have one.  Ended up post the install of raising the reservoir 3/4" so the tube no longer hit the mount but connected above the antenna nub.
