dial phone number with pauses
« on: May 27, 2017, 04:27:30 AM »

I've got a 2014 CVO Limited.  My chapter uses the hell out of a phone bridge for various thing including when we run rides everyone phones in and listens for where the group is, what's going on ahead, etc.

Phone number is like:

8088675309,,,90210#

and if you're the host of the bridge:
8088675309,,,90210#,,*,,,5551212#

Well, apparently the Boom audio system does not like pauses or does not handle them as pretty much every cell phone I've ever had does.  "Please reenter your conference code"
Those phone numbers work when dialing on the phone and when dialing with facetime.  Well the real numbers do in any case.  But the bike chokes on pauses.

Any help? Work around?

I've looked at the manually dialing on the bike with the idea that I would save it if it worked but there's no way I can see to enter a pause.

Thanks

If you can start the call before KSU, just dial-in using the phone, then switch the sound to the Boom! Box, and off you go. Doesn't help much if you hit a dead cell spot and have to re-dial, though.

I downloaded the Boom manual and went through it pretty thoroughly, and there is nothing I could find that mentioned adding a pause.  Since every phone I've used in the past decade or two, including some POTS phones, had the capability to insert a pause, I can't imagine why the Boom folks didn't do so.  Perhaps it will take a call to their tech support, assuming they have such a thing, to get a definitive answer.

LMFAO, so 80's and you are really sharp to pick that up.

If you didn't understand the joke, you were born before 1962 or after 1972. Lol

They do indeed have a tech support program, but honestly, I have spoken to them twice (Still waiting 8 months now for a call back on a GPX issue I pointed them to) and second call, I knew more than they did about the issue and workaround.

Was going to call them to see if anyone there thought of allowing the user to change from their third grade ABCD keyboard to the QWERTY keyboard used on 99.99999% of keyboards, then figured why waste my time.  :'(

Jenny is afloat between Hawaii and Beverly Hills.   ;)

There's a restaurant named 808 near me.  Must be to remind them of the sunshine they're missing.
