Once upon a time, many moons ago, a site member had a thought.  What if we had an informal gathering near the middle of the lower 48 states?  Up to this point there had been some gatherings on the East and West Coast however nutin’ centralized.

A clarion call was made with Twolanerider and some friends answering it back in 2006.  The gathering would take place in September 2007.

There were members from near and far that made the pilgrimage to Hot Springs, AK.  The event would bring together Southerners, Yankees, East Coast, West Coast, Male, Female, Black, White, Brown…if it had a label, it was represented!  But there was one label that applied to all – Biker!

Many of the members that attended this gathering are still active members.  However there are some who have gone on to the next chapter of their life and at least one who is with Him.

Fast forward to the end of 2015, MIKEYTEE starts to ponder the idea of a Meeting In The Middle!  I remember reading this thought and a projected was in 2017!  I thought, Damn that’s a long time away but it certainly went by fast!

As I understand it, MIKEYTEE reached out to the Godfather of the Original Meeting In The Middle, Twolanerider and the ponderin’, and hankerin’ began.

With over 100 potential attendees with 70 bikes, this will be the largest gatherin’ to date!

There will certainly be some memorable times and I invite you to share your photos and comments within this thread.  For me Dierks Bentley‘s song, Every Mile A Memory, may apply.

We did Hot Springs in 2007?  Didn't realize it was that long ago.  Then did Eureka Springs in (I think this is right) 2009.  It was too few weeks after I wacked off my left index finger and the finger wasn't supposed to be riding yet!  Dropped the Road Glide once while there because I banged the sore stub on the clutch lever and killed the engine. 

That Eureka trip was also the first CVO wedding.  I got ordained just for that trip and in the parking lot downhill from where we'll all be staying we had a heck of a wedding one night.  All bikes and riders and people from up the hill watching what was going on the down the hill  .  Done seven more weddings since then too.  One of them was even another CVO couple and was at Eureka Springs!
