Led signals
« on: June 10, 2017, 08:50:36 PM »

Sorry if this has been asked before. If so wasn't getting any hits from the search function.
I have a 13 serk stock bullet signals and am wanting to replace the incandescent front turn signals with the Harley led inserts. Problem is they are not for my year. Would there be a problem with changing the plug in to the appropriate type and installing a load equalizer? Don't do a lot of wiring and just curious if anyone has done it.  For some reason i prefer the appearance of the single led vs the multiples most company's sell.  Thanks for any help.

What is the part number for the inserts you want to use?

As long as what you want to use has a standard 1157 insert to plug into the existing female side , it will work. If the slightly faster blink doesn't bother you then you don't even need the equalizer.

I believe this is the part# 67800639.  Amber insert. Shows as not compatible I'm assuming because it would need a load equalizer.

Those are also the insert that replaces the reflector so no plugging into the bulb receptacle.

flhman is on the money. Buddy installed their LED upgrades on the front and they're awesome. The "running lamp" ring is way visible in broad daylight. The signal function is very noticeable compared to stock. On the 2014 and later bikes the body control module automatically compensates for the load difference and no flash rate difference was noticed. Simple plug and play.

KuryAkyn just came out with a plug in bulb type insert that is not a multi LED board. They are very bright and look great.
