My friend bought a new 07 Jester. He wants to change the exhaust and add a race tuner. The stealer said that would void his warranty. Is this the case? How do you guys handle this?

They must prove that the mods caused the damage other wise they a libel for the repairs.  But they could turn you over to the EPA for tampering with emmissions.  Big fine$$$

Depends on each dealer....a good dealer will look the other way.  If HD gets involved with a warranty claim, they will demand that the scoot be stock!  Our region rep stated that when he inspected my '06 SEUC for the paint issues.  Can't wait until my 1,000 service, my dealer is doing the race tuner kit, high flow intake, exhaust (still pondering over V & H or Rines) and the dino.  Find a dealer who wants to take care of the customer.

Tell him to find a dealer that will do the mods and honor the warranty.  My dealer said they will honor the warranty as long as they were the ones to do the install.  As you can see by my signature, I've replaced the whole exhaust system.

Hello EGcobra and welcome to CVO Harley.  I'm certain you'll hear myriad tales of this query.  Bottom line up front.  Do what you have to do to make the friggin' bike run right.........warranty be damned.  JMHO.

First and foremost, welcome to the site.  Secondly the opinions offered here are to be taken to heart since most if not all of us have had this issue in someway, shape or form; either with a friend or member here.

Find a new dealer that offers "customer service" not "factory service"!  Life will be so much simpler that way.

Welcome to the site eg. Regarding the w.....ty, I'll plead the 5th! (Psst, FTW.....ty!) Get the bike right and worry about it when you need to. If you don't do the mods, you will need that w.....ty! Hoist!
