Who is "Tucker Rocky"
« on: June 21, 2017, 01:45:08 PM »

I'm sure I'm like most others that order most of there motor sport items online.

JP Cycles, Revilla, Phat Preformance, Dennis Kirk, Eastern Preformance to name a few.

I also get UPS tracking notifications which advises me of when a package is been shipped and by whom.

Lately, I have noticed that regardless of who I order my items from, the items are being shipped by Tucker Rocky in Easton PA.  In the past, I would mostly ordering items from Revilla or Eastern Preformance since they we close and shipping time was minimal.

Recently, I ordered some S&S lifters from Phat, who's located in California, received in 2 days shipped from Tucker Rocky in Easton PA.

Ordered a new tire from vender in Texas and again, received in 2 days shipped from Tucker Rocky in Easton PA.

It seems that thing are trending toward virtual store fronts which utilize shared inventory from a few distribution centers.

FWIW

I know when I order computer equipment from Dell, Provantage, etc., They all seem to ship from Ingram-Micro.  Kind of like the Amazon fulfillment centers.  The less the vendor has to touch the product the better and lower costs.

Yes fulfillment center. The other week I ordered something from Amazon because it was cheaper than Lowes. 3 days later a box from Lowes shows up w/my order. Go figure.

Tucker Rocky is another big distributor of parts just like Drag Specialties, VTwin (aka Tedd's Cycle, aka "Taiwan Ted").

Tucker & J&P merged in 2014 (I think). so that explains why you're getting it through them.

Speaking of Tucker Rocky, they're part of MAG group that is having some financial issues and whose outlook isn't so great.

J&P, Motorcycle Superstore, V&H, Kury, Performance Machine, Mustang, Progressive, Roland Sands, Burly.

I doubt any of those would completely fold but I could imagine some being sold off.
