Anyone out there running a LMF pipe by Dirty Bird Concepts and the FP3 on a 14 CVO breakout?  If so what tune are you running?  I've run several tunes and none are giving me the performance I know the bike is capable of.  I even called VH and the guy tweaked the tune I had in there which was for the Big radius pipes.  That tune by itself made the bike drag strip ready but was way to lean, have to love technology, through my wifi he got into my app and then into the FP3 on the bike, pulled the tune out re-mapped it and loaded it back in less than 10min but it is to rich.  I've talked to several very smart mechanics, they suggested Auto-tune which I have done but didn't seem to help. I was told the stock O2 sensors are narrow band and my issue may be that the parameters are outside the range so auto-tune function doesn't work effectively, I am running the stock sensors which are 2 wire (red & white), I was informed the broad band sensors run 5 wires so.....  I'm almost to the point of switching out the pipes to a set of Big Radius.  Any help is appreciated

You are running a pipe that is made for looks.....those things are torque killers and NO auto tune is going to help you. Mater of fact no dyno tune is going to make your pipes work well. The pipe is too short and the 02 sensors are getting oxygen back up through the tail of the pipe.....this will effect the reading the ECM gets which will make this almost impossible to tune. Will it run, sure it will, but it will never run well.

There are a lot of people out there selling pipes who have no exhaust system engineering background or talent.  They make stuff that looks "cool" and makes more noise, and unfortunately there are a lot of customers out there who will buy their stuff strictly for those reasons without researching the actual real world performance.

You need to decide which is more important to you, looks or proper performance.  Doc 1 is a highly regarded dyno tuner btw, so he knows what he's talking about.  You might want to consult with him or someone with similar skills and get recommendations for pipes they know will work.

What Jerry & Doc said is correct. Get a professional tune on a decent pipe if you want performance. If you just want looks (if that's what you think looks good) & noise then stick with the V&H with the wrong canned map. It will be cheaper.

Best thing to do is find a good tuner you can get to and talk through your options. You will be much happier, I know I was after I had Lucille properly tuned it was like night & day.

Fp3 might not be the right tool for the job. V&H don't have any pipes reasonably similar to lmf. My experience with my fp3 is that there are no dyno operators who care to use it. Everyone told me the same thing, "buy a tuner that experienced dyno techs  already know." Best of luck finding a good tune.

I had the privilege of tuning a Stage V Tire Shredder bike today with the Dirty Bird short dump exhaust. I got the bike tuned well enough where it had decent drivability, however what a terrible torque curve. The Ultra ended up with 114/119.....I believe there is a lot more in that Stage V if it had a better performance header on it.

In europe we have to take care about noise....
Do you know some brand/models that perform well, can be upgrade in stage 3, 4, 5 and can be equiped with low noise baffles ?

You have a real problem there don't you.... It's hard to get a pipe to perform well with a stage 3,4,or 5 that don't make much noise. The best pipe I know that would fit your needs would be the Mega Super Trapp. This pipe makes good power and you can build your own tq curve with adding or subtracting disc, you also can control the noise by running the closed end cap. The more aggressive the build the more disc you will have to add........don't listen to people that say no power is gained after 20 disc.......I've used 34 disc to 36 disc in builds and gained MUCH more power than the 20 disc that comes with the pipe.
This is the only pipe I can think of that is not terribly loud but performs great.
One other option is MOVE.......

Supertrapp customer service told me that the only exhaust for the breakout is the  Mean Mother Side Swipes.

Do you have another experience with the supermeg on a breakout ? If yes, do you have a part number ?
I know that V&H says that the short shots don't goes on a breakout, but a lot of breakout have short shots !

Do you know if the supermeg is quieter than a D&D lowcat or a bassani road rage 2in1 ?

The Super Meg is MUCH quieter than the Road Rage or Fat Cat.
Super Trapp has the Internal disc series, Fat Shots, Silent Series for softail models. All these are quiet compared to short shots, Bassani and the likes.
