Fullsac Exhaust with TTS Tuner
« on: June 30, 2017, 03:25:09 PM »

I've been kicking around the idea of having my engine built by a well known builder in my area. The bike is a 2015 CVO Street Glide, basically stock with the exception of a complete Fullsac DX pipe, 2" cores with sleeves and a TTS tuner. The build is advertised to put out somewhere around 130 to 140 hp. During my conversations with them, they said that we need to have a conversation about replacing my pipe/tuner combo. While I'm not looking to wring out every last hp out of this build, I was under the impression that my components were top shelf pieces that would be fine to expand with if I chose to.

So, what say you? All input is greatly appreciated.

First there is no reason to replace the tuner. You have one of the best (if not the best) tuners on the market. The exhaust you have is also one of the best on the market. Depending on the build you are planning you may consider different mufflers or the larger 2.25" cores.

Do you have details on the proposed build? Are you addressing the bottom end as part of this process?

The TTS tuner is one of the best out there.  One company I deal with here that builds bikes has told me the TTS are the best.  I think the headers are also one of the best.  The muffler may be something to look only due to any possible differences in pressure.  I do happen to have both but I did a lot of research before I bought them.  Sounds like you will get a nice increase in HP.

I've used the Fullsac DX Header with the Fullsac 2'' cores on 120r builds with NO drop in power over the Boarzilla. I personally believe this set up will NOT hurt your 117'' build andyou wil need the TTS to manage the tune up.
What tuner is your builder saying to use?

Power Vision, which they sell.

If we were closer, we'd be talking about the build happening at your shop!

If they told you you need a new pipe and tuner, I think they (1) don't know how to tune with TTS and (2) are trying to wring some additional $$$ out of you.

TTS (I believe the best tuner available), Fulsac, and Doc would be a top combination.   Why not bring the bike to him and let him build it for you?  Never heard of anyone leaving his shop disappointed.

SHIP THE BIKE TO DOC-- He just saved you the price of a new tuner and exhaust so spend some of the save on shipping.  Doc will do you right and there will be NO surprises!!  Not so sure that would turn out to be true with your local guy and I know a few up your way.

In the end its your decision.

....and you can ride it back through the mountains for GA/TN if you divert just a little to the east.   That alone is worth the trip, especially if you'e never ridden the Tail of the Dragon, etc....

TTS is the best tuner on the market.

The Fullsac DX head pipe and baffles can make the power your looking for.  The head pipe and baffle are not holding the power back at all.   My bike has the TTS tuner, and the DX head pipe with fullsac baffles.

Im making 140 torque and 138 hp.  Its a long flat torque curve which makes riding it very easy and lots of fun.  It is smother than stock and easier to ride.

Check with Bob at Razorback performance.  He's in Wisconsin but from what I've read on here, you won't be disappointed.

My GMR build seems to be working good 6000 miles on it
fullsac header with 2 inch cores in fullsac slip ons .I love mellow on a 700 mile day but they bark nice when your on the throttle
for this build we switched to a TTS
138 hp 141tq and she comes on early check out the sheet (little clutch slip on the bottom ) and that's with a new Barnett with red plates
