Instrument panel lights

Hey guys the other day when we were heading out I noticed all the dash lights were on in the light and then when we were in the shade the lights went off. After about 2 hrs of riding we stopped and then it went back to normal.  Anyone know where the light senor is ? Anyone had this issue ? Thanks for any info !

They are on the tachometer gauge face now, but can't remember if it was the same on my 2012 (same set-up as your '13).  I would either check the owner manual or look real close at the gauge faces for a small circle near the center of the tach or speedo.  Never had an issue with the dimming flip-flopping, sorry.
