End of an era
« on: July 21, 2017, 03:56:34 PM »

After many years of my custodianship my 1996 Ducati 900SS/CR is moving on to another home.  I loved the bike and it seemed a shame to me that she sat in the garage much more then she got to see the wonderful curvy roads we both love. It was with much consternation that I placed the add putting her up for sale.  She sensed the change, and rebelled on me during our last few rides together causing another round of wrench spinning to get her to cooperate, fickle little Italian thing that she is. After getting things sorted we enjoyed one last blast through a few corners before calmly cruising home. I guess my driving/riding privileges will be safe from the law now that she's going  ::) , Ducati's truly hate going slow, at least that has been my interpretation of the bikes wishes whenever we went out for a ride.

The new owner seems genuinely thrilled to be her next caretaker and stated that he'd been looking for this particular  Ducati model for quite some time - and I can surely understand why. Hopefully the new owner will treat her well, of course if he doesn't she'll make him understand - just like a beautiful, but temperamental Italian woman

Damn,  sure hate to see old loves get kicked to the curb!  Just kidding, I know how you will feel once she is GONE!

I seriously feel your pain.  When I picked up the 15 CVO SG the 05 Springer Classic really began to complain about being neglected, so much so I had to find her a new home.
