Back to my question Does the 595LM help much with finding curvy roads? Thanks Billy
Sorry Billy that we high jacked your thread. I've never tried that option except once near my home. It just wanted to send me down smaller roads but then there aren't many curvy roads around here close by.  No help  I'm afraid but I for one wouldn't put much hope in the curvy road option.

I'd addressed this earlier.  My unit has the function.  All it really does, however, is the same thing you can accomplish on others when you manually deselect things like interstates and toll roads.  Really what else can it do?  It's just keeping you off the "big" roads in favor of things smaller.

I almost bought one of those also Simon.  The sun on the screen is at its worst when its over your shoulder and directly on the screen though.  This is the same time the shade would do you absolutely no good.  So I'll try this other material first.  Might be a mistake.  Won't be the first time. Hell, I even had the temerity to comment on Harley Davidson in a public thread on an open chat site about Harley Davidson last night. So I'm all about the mistakes.  :huepfenlol2:

Well.....you have been known to be a bit of a rabble rouser in the past  :P and by this time should know better than to be espousing your opinion on a topic that is as complex as HD  :huepfenlol2:

I have the 590 and have used the "curvy road" preference and it worked great taking me down a few roads in an area I have rode for years and didn't know about. Personally I love that option and love the unit. I understand when people install it on bikes with stock GPS and have considered doing it on my 17

Just to add another little hijack to the thread, the 590 and 595 hardware is the same, so you can turn your 590 into a 595 by loading the 595 firmware. Done mine, and it's a worthwhile improvement.   Instructions here: http://forum.gps-expert.nl/viewtopic.php?t=1540 and you should also read here: http://www.zumoforums.com/index.php?topic=19345.0 if you use BaseCamp. (It can be returned to being a 590 if you don't like it as a 595 by reloading the 590 firmware.)

Also, though I've mentioned this before, the HD dealer location file that comes on Road Tech Zumo versions can also be used on plain Garmin models - file is here: http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=5067
