rear view mirrors - rusting
« on: August 13, 2017, 05:26:46 PM »

Hello,
Help please if you can. My 2011 RoadGlide CVO Ultra mirrors are corroding around the bottom edge and lifting the chrome from the metal. This only  the pressed steel mirror case. The arms are ok, not a blemish on them.

If I could detach the mirror from the arm I would try for re-chroming of the pressed steel case or replacement of the case.

The questions are:
1) How do I detach the mirror case from the arms.
2) How do I remove the mirror glass without breaking it.
3) Can I buy the mirror cas and glass separately from the arms.

Regards
JohnT

I am afraid it would cost less to just replace them with new mirrors.

Exact thing happened to my right hand mirror . Had them replaced a week ago while still under warranty. Parts man said they would've cost me $87 if I remember correctly.
