or they don't know what the hell is going on.

I've yet to find a dealer who's answered all my questions correctly in reference to the CVO models.  I don't expect anyone to know it all, but don't lie to me.  Just say you don't know and you'll check into it.

Well it was bound to show it's ugly head eventually! Stopped for gas yesterday. When I restarted the bike, the odometer read: LLLLLLL, instead of miles. Turned the ignition on-off a few times. Still all L's. F it! Got back on and rode. 5 minutes into riding, it bounced back to miles on it's own. These electronic speedo's have been finicky P'sOS since introduction in the 90's. Some things never change with MoCo! ;) Hoist! 8)

Steve1911 just picked up a Black Ice SERK on Thursday.  He's getting the tach reading about 500 to 1000 RPM over what it is probably doing.  He's getting about 1600 RPM at idle.  I rode the bike and when I quessed that the bike would be at about 2500 RPM, it was reading over 3000.  What's the fix?

Sounds like there'll be a bunch of us waiting til they fix all the speedo/tach problems and come out with replacement units. And well be replacing them. I'll ask them next week, when I'm there, when that will be. Hoist! 8)

Yep, I confirmed that my tach is having this same problem, and my bike is brand new too.  Glad to hear they have a fix.  Maybe it's to keep us from over-revving while the bike is new..   ;D

I'm hoping to pick up a CACO this week.  I've asked the dealer to check out the tach/speedo before I make the pick up.  Is this problem occurring on all the SERKs?  My build date was supposed to be somewhere aroung 03/21.

Phaze, I haven't had any problems with tach or speedo on my SERK. Good luck with yours. JJ.

Well you guys have pretty much talked me out of buying the speedo/tach combo unit.  That's OK, thanks for the info.

Hi everybody
looks like not only the U.S. models are affected.I bought my SERK in Germany and do have the same problem. The tach is hanging at 2800 rpm and it stays even if i shut the motor off.I have anappointment with the dealer to replace it.
I know it does not help to know that you are not alone with the problem.

Its good to see that the MOCO does not discriminate.  They'll send defective items to everyone.

I've only got about 50 to 60 miles on my SERK, but I haven't seen the problem yet.

Well, I guess that I just needed a little more time on my bike for the tach problems to show up.  I took the bike in last week and when I pulled up in the service lane at Bumpus, I was doing 2000 RPM and 30 MPH with the bike standing still.  I'm now waiting for them to fix the problem!
