Here we are going down a ~ 36° down grade which makes it the steepest in the world that can be traveled by a vehicle.

Along the way…

The Columbia Icefield is about 125 sq mi in area, 330 ft to 1,198 ft in depth and receives up to 280 in of snowfall per year.

You could hike up here with a team from the visitor’s centre however I would suggest the Snow Coach!  Make your reservation days in advance!

The grand finale to this experience is a glass-floored observation platform 918 feet over the Sunwapta Valley. It is a bird's eye view.

Not quite the Burt Reynolds Cosmopolitan pose…HA!
