I think that sticker was ment for those that haul their bikes on trailers to events instead of riding them.

I had the same thought.  And I agree with that sentiment. :2vrolijk_21:

Guess I bought a trailer.  2004 Bushtec Roadstar with GT lid and fenders package (I don't know for sure that I know exactly what that means but it sounds good).  Lots of other bells and whistles added to it at time of delivery including several interior storage pouches and some lighting that are more than just esthetic additions.

Trailer has reportedly been pulled on two trips for a total of about 1100 miles.  It's new price should have been $3500-3600 assuming I'm recognizing all the add-ons.  The gentlemen was initially asking $3200.  We settled on $2800 this evening.  Given what I've found out about these things in the last 10 days or so that seems at least a fair price if not a very good one.

Assuming nothing intrudes on his or my schedules it will be picked up next Thursday.  I can't think of any reason not to use it on the trip to Nelson.  Suddenly I can schlep more stuff than I ever have before.

These conveniences seem like they might be very handy.  The company accessory sheet also lists some sort of pouch/organizer thing for the inside of the lid.  Might look at that later after I see the trailer up close and personal.

This nice looking spoiler is part of the "GT" package.  A big 60 segment bright LED perched up that high can't be a bad thing.

I may not even put a tour pak on the bike for this trip now.  Hell, I might even be able to sell the King Tour Pak.  Probably not.  A different configuration or option is always nice to have.  But doing so might become a very real option.

Ok you trailer mongers out there.  What are the pros and cons I'm not considering yet?  In all the years I've sat a bike I've never even been in the seat of a bike with a trailer hooked to it.

Well Chip, I'll at least have a place to hold chilled beverages.  Not sure that's worth the total expense.  But a guy takes what gains he can find  :2vrolijk_21: .

You know it's odd that I was thinking about cleaning the back end of the other trailer this afternoon.  But I didn't get any farther then taking the tag off of it so I could wax behind it.  Will have to be sure and remember to get that back on there  ::) .

Thank you Chuck.  I'm pretty sure this will be one of those "it only gets used a couple times a year" kind of things.  But I'm thinking it will be very handy when it does get used though.

Quite frankly I just carry more stuff than I used to.  Can remember when longer trips just automatically meant ditching underwear and being otherwise very minimalist to travel for extended periods and not take up much space.  Now there's a camera bag that will fully occupy a King Tour Pak if I want to take most of the stuff.  Rain gear.  Heated gear.  And stuff.  There's just more stuff that didn't seem nearly so important 20 years ago.

As my waist line has gotten LARGER so have my travel desires.  Truly a perplexing combination.  I hope the relationship doesn't continue apace and that having a trailer to allow hauling even more stuff doesn't mean I get even bigger  ??? .
