Jerry,
That's a sweeeeeeet looking trailer. :2vrolijk_21: I like the way the put the "bra" around the front of it to protect it from road debris. Is there any concern w/that when it gets wet like there was w/that type of device when it was used on the front of cars (clouding paint)?

Not really.  Had the bra on my other Bushtec and had it for 8 years.  No problem.  When I get back from road trips and clean it up I always remove the bra, then wash and wax the trailer.  Only time it is on wet is if we get caught in the rain.  You need it for sure.  Friend bought a used trailer (forget the brand) and had it repainted.  No bra and after first trip the front was really pecked up by road debris.  Cheaper to buy a new $100 bra then screw up the paint on the trailer.

Great looking trailers TJ & Jerry.  TJ you'll never regret getting the trailer, it's the only way to go for long trips.

That looks nice Jerry.  Amazing coincidence to show up when someone else was getting almost exactly the same thing too.  You guys had to share a good laugh over that.

Wow, that really, really looks great.  Congrats on your new trailer.  Love the way they made it look.  Your right about the SE meallions on there.  That will look real sweet.  Ya'll look just as proud as a parent of new trailer can look too.  That is worth everything to see!   :huepfenjump3: :cherry:

Ultrafxr, we need an update on the trailer. How many miles have you been able to log? How do you like it so far? My OCD is kickin' in high gear!

AJ, there is a used Bushtec for sale by a guy in South Bend , Ind.
I was going to buy it but decided I did not need one.  It is a 2004 model Roadstar with most options except the bumper and spare tire.
He is asking $3200 and was willing to meet me half way.
If interested pm me and I will send you his address, etc.

H10, I've logged about 5k with the trailer now.  It is great - just like my '99 model I had previously.  These Bushtecs are bulletproof.  As has been stated before my me and others these things just pull so well they just don't affect your ride at all.  Only time you'll notice them is starting out (if you've got 'er loaded up) because you're having to get that extra weight moving and sometimes while stopping for the same reason.  But neither is objectionable to me, just somewhat noticeable.

Thanks for the offer but I'm not quite there "yet". I've been toying with this idea and think this would be a good addition.

Have to warn ya but once you go trailer you won't want to go back. Had mine for seven years and 60 some thousand miles. Last trip packed a tent and slept on the ground first time in all those years. waaaaaaaa I miss my trailer.

Go to the Bushtec website and check their Bushtec Forum.  Place for Q&A but also for folks to post if selling or looking to buy a pre-owned trailer.  If you want specific info give them a call or pm me and I'll give you my phone number.

For those of you familiar with these things; how well do used units hold their prices?

From the Bushtec price sheet a new "RoadStar" model is $2395 including hitch and harness.  Have recently found out about a RoadStar model not too far away that is for sale.

It's a 2002.  So four or five years old.  Looks to have almost never been pulled.

It's offered without the hitch and harness.  It does have a lid with a recessed brake light which is an option on the stock unit.  Unit is still the basic plain white.  There is carpet inside but I don't know how to recognize if this is the standard carpet or some upgrade.

He's asking $2000 but says immediately he'll "entertain an offer."  Not being familiar with these things at all I've no idea what their used market is like.  What's a fair price?  What's a good price?

Another question.  How are bike trailers licensed?  Just as small utility trailers?
