Good  idea for the pole...maybe one of those long bicycle poles with the triangular flag...

Rear Buckets...not a bench...i.e. b!tch to remove and reinstall!

Pulled my original trailer behind my truck for about 300 miles.  I attached an upright stick onto the trailer tongue, so I could see something in my rearview to know if the trailer was having any problems or not.  It pulled great!

Wait a minute---- you've got a crew cab, just pull the rear seat and slide the trailer in on it's side!!!!! put your luggage in it!!!! problem solved!!!!!!!! :pepper: :pepper: :orange: :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3:

No charge for the logistical support!!!!!! :2vrolijk_21:

C'mon, buckets only mean 8 bolts total, not the 4 for the bench!!!!!  Okay, so you've also got 4 for the center console.   Just use a blue wrench and they'll be out of there in a snap!!!!!

Hypothetically....and I truly mean hypothetically....ignoring the complete mismatch of proportions....would you consider....

Loading your bike in a pickup truck for 1500-2100 mile trip (again hypothetically from MA to Joplin or Colorado Springs).....and this is the weird part....towing your Bushtech Trailer behind the truck so that you have it available for a two week, 3000-4000 mile trip on the motorcycle?

Now if three bikes go from MA, the game changes and I have the hauler for that...I just cannot justify a three place trailer to move one bike long distance....I am cheap and the mileage of the truck drops from 16-17mpg down to 12 with the trailer!

Not going to even try to read everything from the last week.  Just to catch up here though:

Bill, or anyone else, if you're thinking about staging from Joplin, no problem.  Plenty of room to park a truck for the rest of the trip.

AJ, did you buy anything yet.

Bill (again) are you going to buy something (bike or trailer)?

The little Bushtec I got did go in for paint before I left.  I have been sworn to that it will be done and back to me, "hopefully by the 24th but for sure before the end of the month."  I trust vendors implicitly.  So I'm sure this will happen.  I'm really really sure.

Brought the little trailer back from the paint shop this afternoon and reassembled it this evening.  It's not a paint to match as in two toned, stripes and everything.  At least for now have only done the primary red color.

The body lines on the little Roadstar actually don't lend it terribly well to doing matching graphics on the side.  The solid red looks pretty good in any case.  For much much less $$$ then a full on graphics match this is ok.

Some before and after to illustrate the difference.  This was an image the seller provided when I bought the trailer.  That faux chrome trim that covered the perimeter of the body and lid was a nice enough contrast against the black.  It had "glue issues" though.  I didn't keep it with the red background.

Also didn't keep the (to me) goofy looking mud flaps.  The rear lights are the old style (pre-98?).  It uses stock Harley lenses.  Notice the original (boring) square back lenses.

I added the rear bumper that Bushtec offers and changed the rear lenses to the old Aurora aftermarket pieces.  Thought their angular shape much more closely matched the lines of the trailer.

Unseen here is a different lock also.  Stock it had just a key.  It worked was a bit awkward.  They started offering very recently a keyed push button lock assembly.  A lot more convenient to get in and out of.

And a different perspective.  The color match is spot on.  Lots of depth and looks great in the sun.  Looks very good behind the bike.  Can't see it in the photo but also added a lid organizer inside.  There were already a couple of nice document pouches in there. The lid organizer runs the length of the lid and adds several pockets for storage of small items.

I'll be damned.  Until looking at my own before and after pictures didn't realize the paint shop had done away with (or lost?) the reflectors on the side and rear.  I honestly don't know if they were a stick on thing or if the shop had to fill some holes.

I assume they were stuck on.  Certainly don't mind the looks without the ugly square reflectors.  Guess it'll still be seen  :nixweiss: ?
