I'm looking for advice on this one.
As my epic bolt replacing saga got deeper, I decided to replace the transmission to engine bolts which required removal of the inner primary. So, while the black one was off, I replaced it with a chrome unit.

As I was finishing up one evening, and all the hidden bolts were replaced, I mocked it up just to see how all the shiny stuff would look, and then quit for the night. The next afternoon, I proceeded to do final install. I never took everything off, just bolted all the pieces on.

It came to me in the middle of the night, that I had never greased the main seal when I slid it all together for mock-up.

I never did a total tear-down before final assembly.
I'm debating whether or not I need to tear it all down to grease the seal, or just go for it and tear it down later if the seal fails and it starts to leak.

The cost either way is almost the same, the only difference is primary fluid.
I'm thinking my only liability is the chance of a drippy inner primary. Am I missing something more catastrophic?
Question #2. If I do decide to tear it down, could I get away without buying all of the gaskets?

The bolts aren't a real issue, but that $35 gasket is pricey if I don't REALLY have to replace it.
Thanks in advance for your input,
Chief
