Searching for European CVO friends
« on: February 28, 2007, 06:30:37 AM »

OK you clever moderator people, please can you tell me if I can still find other CVO members in Europe by location. There used to be a map on the old site showing where members lived, but I can't see any easy way of doing it now.

Thanks,

Nige

The mapping feature was an add on to the previous version of the site software. It was not a feature availble with this version. Naitram is working on this to see if it can be implimented again.

Well, since you started the thread...
We're currently stationed in Belgium, just got here in Oct, bikes arrived in Nov.  Have the 06 SEUC, Haze with many additions.  Should be in Europe for about 3 years.  Already registered and have all reservations for Euro-HOG Spain in June.

Thanks dude - I thought that might be the case. It was a nice feature and I certainly used it regularly.

Hope Naitram finds a way to bring it back.

Hi Baron - where are you from originally ? We are all booked up for the Euro HOG in Spain as well. I should have my new CACO SERK by then so I'm looking forward to the ride down from Newcastle upon Tyne where I live. If you fancy hooking up for a beer down on the old Costa then let's keep in touch.

I'm looking for someone to do a bit of translation from English to German, Spanish and Italian - any ideas ?

The translation sites are just too literal - I need a native speaker.

Cheers,

Nige

Thanks for those Rjob - I'm after a bit of translation so these members may well fit the bill. I'm also looking for an Italian helper too.

Anyone who thinks they might be able to help please let me know. (German, Spanish, Italian)

Thanks.

Incidentaly did you know there is a village called Bellingham just a few miles away from where I live in Northumberland.

I recall seeing something in a news report that mentioned it.  It always amazes me how many locations around the world have the same names.

Yeah, why can't those Brits think up their own names anyway instead of copying ours all the time?

Sorry, been out of town a couple of weeks.  Originally from Northern New Mexico.  Would be great to grab a beer or two with you down in Spain and I look forward to seeing the new SERK; actually pretty interested in the Road Kings and looking at getting one our corral, wife needs a new bike and would much rather her get a RK vice the Soft-tail heritage. -

Sounds good to me - we are staying in Fuengirola on the nights of 20th/23rd June so I reckon we should be able to find some time to swallow a few cold ones. My new CACO SERK was supposed to have been here for the beginning of March but the Dealer has told me it's not even built yet. Still as long as I have it for May I should be able to get her nicely run in before we head for Spain.

Catch you later.

Hey Baron - are you at SHAPE in Mons or at NATO in Brussels or Chevres or somewhere else?

I was with the Brit Army at Live Oak, part of Shape, from '82 to '88

Now I'm retired from the military and have to work for a living...

See you in FG in June

Which route will you take?

I think there's an opportunity to meet on the road

We will probably ride from Boulogne down towards Marseille and through to Spain then down the costal motorway to FG

It's going to be a blast

Cheers

Dave
