You did an outstanding job.
Powder coat is pretty reasonable, isn't it? What's next?
Thanks Ron.
This powdercoating is very reasonable because I found a local shop that will hang my stuff for free. They are a good sized outfit that runs production line. As long as I can blast it clean and give them an easy way to hang it, they just put it on the line. They will do any color I want as long as its black.
The first time I took them the detachable brackets, I only buffed them down with Scotchbrite which left a lot of the green coating on them, and they came out terrible. I don't know what that coating is, but it sure fouled up the PC.
I took them home, removed all the PC, blasted them clean and you can see the results. 10x better than round 1.
As for what's next, I want to fab up an antenna bracket that will go up through a hole in the saddlebag filler strip, kind of like they do on the Street Glide. Since I removed the TP, I don't have any radio, and I don't like the relocation kit they put on the detachable piece. I used the road Glide bracket on my other bike, but it won't work with the filler strips. This will mean drilling through the filler strip which has me kind of nervous.
I'll be sure to show it off it it comes out nice.
