pipes n stuff
« on: February 28, 2007, 09:47:23 PM »

I got this note from the nice feller that tuned the bike.  Stormy Hill in Clermont did the install of the pipe and sert.
I'll be back with a ride report from this weekend on how I feel it is running and with a map number if I get it.
After dealing with some nefarious folks in the past, these dudes are a breath of fresh air.

Miker

MIKE,
GOT GREAT NUMBERS OUT OF YOUR BIKE TODAY.  95HP AND 115TQ.  THE BEST I'VE
SEEN YET FROM AN OTHERWISE STOCK SE BIKE.  TELL YOUR FRIENDS THE RINEHART
2 INTO 1 IS THE PIPE THAT WORKS THE BEST.  THE BOBBY WOOD TW7 CAMS WILL
GIVE YOU 10 MORE HORSES AND KEEP YOUR TORQUE WHEN YOU ARE READY FOR MORE.
HOPE YOUR HAPPY WITH THE BIKE.  LET ME KNOW IF I CAN DO ANYTHING ELSE FOR
YOU.

Sounds like you got some great numbers with your mods - particularly the torque figures.

Did you do the A/F as well ?

Cheers,

Nige

Miker,

That looks pretty strong.  Did you get the Dyno sheet and if so are you going to post it?  My SERK goes in this weekend for mods and it would be great to have your #'s for comparison.

Thanks,  Doug

Mike

Those are some pretty stout numbers; you’re fortunate to have a skilled tuner available and one that appreciates your business to top it off.

These are the numbers from the dyno.  Rinehart 2-1.
The bikes fine, no chuggin, much better throttle response, great low rumble at idle, roars at wot, nice sound at 2-2.5k
and the big plus,  a lower A/F and hopefully, cooler runnin.
The biggest problem now it is screaming for a chrome inner primary and starter...

Best of luck to all.  I'll try a get some pics of the pipe if I can find my camera.

Miker,

Thank you for sharing....  My SERK is in the shop right now for V/H slip ons, SERT, SE257 cam and some chrome (chrome is faster, right?).  Unfortunately the dyno broke yesterday and it might be another week or so before I get her back.  I will be very curious to see how my numbers compare to yours and I will use yours as a benchmark.

They are going to dyno mine bone stock first and then a final after tuning.  I will post both for all when I get it back.  The dealer has been very good and easy to work with.  They want to use mine as an example for one of their build "packages" so they offered me a deal and almost free dyno time.

Did you have a baseline dyno done before the mods?

Enjoy the ride and thanks again.

I wish I had stock data too.  It will be nice to get a $/hp ratio.  Are the cams gear driven?

No stock data, I had the bike fitted with SE slip-on and flashed before I took delivery.  The base line dyno run was the Rinehart 2-1 with the canned cvo map.  The tuner got the numbers up.

I hope chrome makes it go faster cause thar chrome starter and inny primary are gonna cost!

No, that cam is a direct replacement for the stock one.

Since the bike was going to have to be tuned and dynoed with the pipes and SERT anyway I decided it was fairly cost efficient for me to add the cam at the same time.  It didn't add "that much" to the cost and from my discussions with the dealer and information from this site it seemed to be the next logical step from a performance standpoint.  As I stated in my last post, because the dealer was looking to put together a new 110" upgrade package to sell they are working with me on the cost, which makes it even less expensive.

It will be interesting to see what the final result is.  I am doing ther chrome inner primary - so that should account for another 10hp/10trq.  I decided to wait on the starter and front brakes.....

Mike

That is a great looking chart, I had heard claims of these pipes producing great numbers but had not seen any charts to back it up and like most folks I’m much more interested in sustained torque than a quick peak, is there any reason were not seeing the info prior to 2.9K?  My finger was doing a tap dance last night itching to pull the trigger on one of the ten they had on eBay for  $450 but I backed off because I hadn’t heard anything but numbers.  If there are no shortfalls that were omitted from the chart then the RH 2>1 appears to be the direction to go if that style exhaust is of interest to you.

We just dyno tuned the wife's bike in Daytona.

Stock headpipes with Sppertrapp SE slipons.
Power Comander and K&N filter element

92 HP and 112 lbs torque. Goes over 100 lbs at 2200 RPM and stay above 100 until 4800 RPM. Stump puller.
Wonder what it would do with a good cam.

Dr, Dyno is the man! :huepfenjump3: He is using two fuel/air ratio sensors so he can match both cylinders. He worked unitl it hand a very flat air/fuel  graph when complete and both cylinder are matched very close.

Those are some really excellent numbers, I would be quite satisfied with those.

Almost did Supertraps, changed to V/H at the last minute because I liked the way they looked.  If I get you or Mikers numbers I will be happy - anything more is gravy.....

After tuning, does it have any decel popping?
