Gas gauge dancing around
« on: April 14, 2018, 08:57:07 AM »

All the sudden my gas gauge has started dancing around like a bobble head doll as soon as it comes off the full mark.
Anyone else experience this on their FLTRSE3?

FLTRSE3     P/N 74708-09    FUEL GAUGE    $85.46

Some discount dealers sell them for around $67 to $70, but you have to factor in shipping charges.  One I looked at prices the gauge at $67 but then adds almost $17 for shipping.  In that case you'd be just as well off buying from the local dealer at MSRP.

Have seen swinging gauges be gauge problems and have seen them be sending unit problems.  My Road Glide a couple years ago it was a sending unit issue.  Someone else's bike here early last summer it was a gauge.  So something of a craps shoot.

Hope the used gauge is both good itself and solves the issue.  Will keep the finger crossed.
