roger,
I think it looks great, but I am partial to the bike you have! Did you paint the street glide piece or leave it black? John

John, I just left it black and it looks fine on the rear fender.  In a bright sun you may notice the crimson in the fender, but for the most part I doubt the difference is enough to worry about for most.

Here I go, waking up a dead thread.

I'm looking for information on parts:

Conduit, wire harness, price $6.47

Ground Effects Support, part no. 59790-06, price $5.40

That are used in the addition of the FLHX Ground Effects piece.

I am trying to find out if the conduit above has a part number for it and just what is the Ground Effects Support and is it necessary?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey all, thought i would ping in here and let you know there is a socket opening in the rear taillight fixture that will provide the juice. Remove the Len's and it should be the empty socket on top left. Can't help you with the part number for the socket but it should be the same one used for the lower light effect on the rear fender on Ultras. you can route your wire into the rear of the taillight fixture, but it is a good idea to use the conduit with the sticky backing from the MO Co

Can anyone scan a page from the Parts Manual to show the breakdown and parts list for the rear fender showing all of the bits and pieces for the FLHX rear fender with the fascia? I want to make sure I'm not getting stuff I don't want/need and more importantly, not missing any parts I DO need.  :)

Thanks,

Chief,

These are the parts I purchased when I did mine.  Seems like there was a part of two I didn't end up using, but I really don't remember which ones.

I grabbed power from the connector in the tour pak.  There is a unused connection supplied in the tour pak.  I tapped into the connector for power for this and for power to my LED running/brake light strip under my tour pak.

Here's the parts...

Ground Effects, part no. 59739-06 (color code: BXT (cobalt blue), BPY (black pearl), BPS (black cherry) and DH (vivid black)

Rear Fender Light Assembly, 69375-06

Pin Housing, 3-way,  part no. 73103-96BK

Pin Terminal, part no. 73190-96

Stud Plate, part no. 59818-06, (requires 2)

Ground Effects Support, part no. 59790-06

Bumper, part no. 59581-05

Screw, part 3596, (2)

Flange nut, part 7499, (6)

Grommet, part no. 59778-06 (2)

Thanks Scott. I don't see the mystery conduit listed. What did you do for that?  :nixweiss: I'm also unsure about the Ground Effects Support, part no. 59790-06 as I'm not sure where that goes and if I need it.

I did not use any mystery conduit.  Whether or not you need the conduit may differ depending on where you pick up power for the lighting.  Like I said, I went into the tour pak - I think others use the tail light assembly for a power source - some have used the accessory circuit.  How you wire it probably determines if you need mystery conduit.  I believe the ground effects support is a bracket behind the fender that supports the light fixture.  I would need to see a picture of it to say for certain...  Other then the light assembly and the ground effects part, everything else is "trinket" as far as cost...

I've already got everything everyone has listed with the exception of the conduit and bracket and grommets. I'll probably tap into the rear harness inside the rear fender conduit and terminate the extra wires with a 3 pin Deutsch connector which means I don't need the conduit. I'm thinking the bracket is a necessity tho.

Thanks for your help Scott.

70531-06 Conduit, wire harness, self adhesive (domestic) Number 33 in picture.
It is a rubber channel with 2 sided tape the wires run through. It is applied to the left side of the facia.
