HOW IN THE WORLD DO I HOOK UP GARAGE DOOR OPENER?? HELP!!!!

HEY GUYS,

HAVE HAD MY 06 SE ULTRA ABOUT 3 WEEKS NOW. I BOUGHT IT USED.  I GOT EVERYTHING FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNER I THINK....

HE GAVE ME THE GARAGE THING THAT IS SUPPOSED TO GO IN THE GARAGE IT HAS 1 BLACK WIRE (ANTENNA) AND A BLACK RED COMBO WIRE AND THIS THING PLUGS INTO AN OUTLET.... 

AS YOU CAN TELL IN MY WEAK DESCRIPTION I NEED SOME HELP WITH THIS...

Remote Control Garage Door Opener Kit

Operate your automatic garage door opener without leaving your motorcycle seat or fumbling in your pocket for the remote control. Compatible with most brands of automatic openers, this kit allows you to operate your door by cycling the bike's high-beam switch. The hidden transmitter taps into your bike's wiring harness and is powered by your vehicle battery, so there is no transmitter batteries to replace. When your key is switched off, the transmitter is disabled providing added garage security if you park your bike outside. The signal is sent to the in-garage receiver that plugs into a standard 110-volt outlet and is wired to the automatic opener. The receiver's rolling code technology provides additional security. Kit includes one transmitter and one receiver. Individual components are available to equip additional bikes and garages. Patented.

Just plug it into to an outlet. Connect the black and red wire across the same terminals your existing door switch is connected to. That's it. If it doesn't work, it may need to me married to the bike. This takes two people. There is a recessed switch on the front of the module (with the Red and black wire). Have someone press this switch in and then toggle your bike's low/high beam a couple of times (with the bike ignition on). This will marry the two and it should work. Enjoy. I love mine.

OK... I HAVE THE RECIEVER... BUT WHAT ABOUT THE TRANSMITER ON THE BIKE...  DOES IT COME STOCK ON THE BIKE SOMEWHERE?  IS IT BUILT IN?

do nothing to the bike.  the post below gives good instructions. the reciever plugs into a 110v outlet, the black antenna wire just hangs there, and the two red wires go to the door opening motor.   after its plugged in ...someone presses the black button on the reciever and you flip the hi-low beam switch on the bike.  naturally have the ignition switch in the on position. again the pic was just to show you where it was located. it came indtalled from the factory.

If you don't have a spare pair of hands don't worry about it.  The receiver (the part you've been talking about) doesn't have to be hooked up to the opener to program it.  You can just plug it in, stand right there beside the bike, do the mating sequence, then climb up and hook it to the opener.  It'll work just fine.

Is there any diagnosing a problem marrying the transmitter and receiver. Me thinks me got a dead one. Pinkie and I tried it this weekend. I sent Pinkie up the ladder in the garage, and I did the complicated part of flipping the beams. Nothing.

Today, I retrieved the receiver from the ceiling and tried it in hand next to the bike. The learning LED never stops flashing while I flip the lights l-h-l or h-l-h or l-h-l-h-l-h-l-h.....


Has anyone ever experienced a dead one?
