Howie,
They're not big specks, more like sparkles when the sun hits them just right.  Maybe I'm just having flashbacks from the '70's :P  Oooops did I say that outloud? ??? :-X
Cheers :2vrolijk_21:,
Red

It wasn't sunny today. We went out again. I can't see any sparkles. Now my wife thinks she might see them. I'm not sure if it's because I'm tring to get her to see them. Maybe it'll be sunny tomorrow and I'll see if I can notice. But I swear I can't tell the difference! Hoist! 8)

On a similar note, does anyone have the part # for Light Candy Cherry touch up bottle? The local dealer couldn't find it.

If this were me I would not recommend counting on getting the paint matched by a scanner.   My local guy is great at matching says that the layered paints multi stage will not come out right if you try to scan them and then look at them in the sun.   He proved this to me with our pumpkin.   The issue is the primer than a base coat and then if you have a pearl on top.   If your looking for a guy to match your paint I would recommend talking to John St. Clair at Metal Mafia.   He has done a lot of work for me.  He just did a lot of work on Hogasm's Black / Blue bike and does all the repair work for several harley dealers here in my area.

He can be reached at 321-297-3657

Howie...what others are saying is what I'm asking you to look at very carefully...I haven't seen the Black Ice SERK, but have seen several B/O and a couple of R/B SEUC's.  The Black on them definitely has silver...it's more like the old "metallic" cars, not metalflake, so the silver particles are very tiny.  On the 06's, both the Emerald Black and the Black Candy Crimson do not show the metalflake unless the sun is shining directly on the paint...I'm talking about the one's with good paint.  On cloudy days, you can't tell it at all.  Get that scoot out of the shadow of all those tall buildings there in New Yawk, and out in the direct sun and you'll see the silver down in the paint.  It's subtle...

Yeah, I'm hearing that Terry. It wasn't sunny today but wasn't totally overcast either. I can't believe the paint effect would be so subtle. It's supposed to be sunny tomorrow. Let's see what I see then. See it only in bright sun, Geesh! I never though having a black bike would ever get so complicated! ::) Hoist! 8)

Mr. Hoist,

It's like no one ever thought anyone could have 1200 posts on just keeping their warranty in tact only to add in 1200 more posts about breaking the warranty.  hehe   The paint is an art form much like posting :)

Sorry Hoist I just couldnt resist,

The light candy cherry is the same as the 05's, I have the number for that kit althought it comes with the dark candy cherry as well.  The kit consists of a light  candy base coat, dark candy base coat and a candy cherry top coat. The part number is 94276

.

The 2007 part number for the light candy cherry as used on the FLHTCUSE2 is 94453, per the 07 paint catalog's air dry touch up paint section (page 4-1).  It's listed as Light Candy Cherry and Black Ice... ;)

Thats odd that they would use the same color on different year bikes. But I also know why you guys are so in love with that Candy Cherry color....its the same color that they use on the old Radio Flyer wagons that we had as kids.

Holy Crap!!! It does sparkle in the sun! I can't believe that you can't see it at all unless it's in direct sun. Not even bright lights, just the sun! Now I gotta find the right paint for the hard bags. I kinda wish it was plain old Vivid Black. It would sure have made things easier! Thanks for pointing it out guys. If I use VB, no one would notice, as long as I don't ride in the sun! ;D

And since I'm no artist, these posts probably ain't too pretty either, huh Harry? ;)

Hoist if it were vivid black you would just have a run of the mill road king and what fun would that be.

Well Harry, they could use it in the plain areas. It still has the Pewter Leafing, silver marble, and blue pinstriping. The bike has so many other cool features that I wouldn't have minded VB paint in the plain areas. I can barely notice the sparkles anyway! And who doesn't love a sleeper! ;) Hoist! 8)

The paint on mt '07 SERK appears to be Vivid Black. It's sitting right next to my '03 Vivid Black RK. The Black Ice, I thought referred to the paint scheme-everything else they do to the paint. My paint is not metallic. There are marbled sections, special pinstriping and pewter leaf flames. But the paint looks like regular Vivid Black. Is this not the same on SEUc"s? I'm mounting hard bags on mine and am having them painted at the end of the month. What am I missing here? Hoist!

I used vivid black saddlebag spoilers, Howie - you cannot tell the difference.

Black Ice is sort of metallic though, but there's so little of it, it looks like a vivid black bike was sitting too close to a spraybooth when they painted something silver!  :huepfenlol2:
