HARLEY SPONSORED CVO EVENTS
« on: March 12, 2007, 08:59:53 PM »

How do you find out about Harley CVO events?  Last year Harley had a breakfast and tickets to races for CVO owners, but I think that I found out about it through this site.  I've looked for info on the Harley site, but if it's there, I've missed it.  I'm just wondering if they'll do something in Sturgis again this year and I'd like to know something about the schedule.

Last year when that information became available it was thru an email sent to some of the owners here, and they relayed the info on. Hopefully if that happens again this year the same thing will happen.

You'd think that the MOCO would have a listing of CVO owners.  If you've registered with a profile on the HOG area of the HD website, they'd know what you own (and VIN# as I recall).  This site is probably the easiest way for the MOCO to communicate to CVO owners.

Willie G, normally calls me every other Friday and we discuss upcoming rides and events  ;D

I will try and do a better job of keeping everyone aware what's going on

Jeff,
I just looked at the site you posted. There is NOTHING about the CVOs. & I think that is the point. The MoCo caters to the V-Rod crowd but leaves us in the wind.

Maybe the MoCo doesn't think we have anymore disposable income as we spent so much on our scoots  :nixweiss:
So they cater to the V-Rod guys.......well and then again maybe not

To be honest I can't understand why the MoCo doesn't do more for CVO riders out here....all we wanna do in ride and have fun

Food for thought here folks,

I have not visited the Vrod forums but do you think there is a lot of MOCO,product or dealer criticism on those forums? Maybe not?  :nixweiss:
Maybe the higher ups don't want to walk into the "lion's den" of criticism and us older riders are a dying market segment?

Maybe the MOCO wishes to spread enthusiasm for the watercooled and more modern technology especially in the younger customer base since they are building for the future? :nixweiss:
I agree that it would be nice to be treated like the top of the line customer and on a one bike price we are high dollar and probably long time loyal customer. But in sheer buying power I wonder what the yearly profit is for our "limited group" versus larger volume sales of Vrods? To the MOCO due to our age and the fact we have the "ultimate bike" how many more bikes are we going to buy in the next few years versus a younger owner with more earning years and they can be loyal to the new bike technology instead of complaining about the loss of traditional engines or styling?

VaEagle i guess you are right.I owned a street rod.I bought it last may after 1000 miles i tried to sell it i got bored quick. In fact the bike is sold just today.I am not necessarly old im 36 and i wouldnt change my fatboy with any vrod out there. But frankly vrod crowd are a much bigger crowd than CVO crowd. And they take this factory gathering thing way too seriously.I dont know the exact number but the attendance to their gathering is way to crowded for moco to miss an event like that.Just my 2c. :drink:

You know that Harley has got to find a way to get younger riders with less depth in their pockets.  I've been trying to talk my wife into buying one of the new Nightsters.  It's the only Sportster that I've ever had interest in.  My guess that the MOCO is trying to show that you can have a cool bike that's less than $10K.

Yeah, and someone else "out there" may know a lot about your CVO too....remember the HOG data that was compromised thru the loss of one of their laptops that contained sensitive member information (ie: credit card #'s, etc.)?

I Don't recall that I ever heard if it (missing laptop computer) was ever recovered.    :nervous:

I haven't had any strange charges show up on my credit card.  I got the letter from HD with their offer to run a credit check at no charge, but I haven't heard anything about the status of the missing lap top.

What are you looking for? Free stuff? Customer satisfaction data groups customers into two basic groups, "loyal" and "at risk." Most of us are relatively satisfied with our motorcycles and the sales experience. We probably fall into the "loyal" category. Perhaps new customers with less skin in the game undoubtedly fall into the "at risk" category and therefore are drawing more attention from the MOCO.
