Brake Light Switch

Do the threads for a rear brake light switch require any type of sealant or teflon tape?

The new plug from HD should have a patch of thread sealant applied.  If reusing a used one I'd put a dot of brake fluid compatible sealant on it.

Hit any local auto parts store (hopefully) and get Permatex #14.  That's a good thread sealant for your current (and many other) needs.
