Got a new radio
« on: March 14, 2007, 10:28:01 AM »

Well, they replaced my radio. It had been doing some strange things from day one. It would always take two presses of the power button to make it come on. It would come on occasionally in the AM mode even though it was shut off in XM or CD mode. I could always get it to work by working the power button and then switching to the right mode, it was just irritating. I tried all the updates and the last one was 8.11.

So, the dealer ordered a new radio which came in about two months ago. Finally got some good weather here in cold Iowa and I took it in yesterday. 76 degrees. Anyway, new radio with the same 8.11 software and the problems seem to have gone. Rode about 150 miles yesterday, tried to make the radio act up but it seems to be good now. Time will tell for sure.  :nixweiss: 8)

Are we suggesting not to upgrade to 8.19?

No sweat.  For some reason Harley's main website doesn't do a good job of pointing out that site that is specifically for the Advanced Audio radio system.  It's easier to find software upgrades and other info there though.  So it's a good link to bookmark.

If my radio is working fine is there any reason to update?
