If you can find the same size fish tail as the pipes it should work.

Magoo,  Maybe your end caps are drilled differently than mine, but the left and right end caps are identical.  Switching left and right doesn't gain anything.  Both have three holes drilled.  In turning the caps around, you have to drill on the lone side not already drilled.  Not a big deal.  Aluminum.  13/64 drill and a 1/4 - 20 tap.  Took about 30 minutes to do both sides. Be careful, straight, and use cutting oil, backing out and cleaning the tap frequently.   Looks real nice.  I"m very hapy with the clean look.  

I compared the end cap on the stock seeg pipes and quickly abandoned any idea of adapting it to the freedom rineharts.  Just looking at the construction compared to the billet aluminum freedom caps cinched it for me.  No comparison in quality.  Much prefer the billet end caps, albeit turned over to conceal the logo.

I've read it all, all 13 pages of freedom pipes, Kuryakyn parts, dyno #'s, and the rest.  Has anybody with freedom pipes, PC, and air cleaner set up noticed the change in their gas mileage?  What is the cost of tourque envy at the pumps? [smiley=confused5.gif]

Daddyschog........add more air both coming and going, and you're gonna have to increase the fuel flow...........BUT, if you pay 30K+ for a scoot, you gotta free it up from the EPA restrictions to run as efficiently as it should............gas mileage will suffer, but not all that much.  Most people get around 40mpg while riding with a law enforcement person following close behind.  HAR ! I thought mine increased slightly; from 36-38 to around 40.  I even hit 44 on one twisty section in central Oregon where the speed average was lower.  I didn't install the Freedom package until I had 1000 miles and the increase could be attributed to the engine loosening up some.

In an earlier post I mentioned that I had a surge at idle.  I eventually traced this to an air leak with the new filter.  The sealing surfaces are not as "thick" as on the older oiled K&N's and the metal housing seems thinner causing the filter to flex if over torqued and thereby allowing an air leak.  I  removed the filter and backing plate re-torqued to spec and no air leak.

Incidently, I tried an oiled K&N on the bike.  It ran richer (Immediately noticeable) throughout the powerband.  I reinstalled the paper filter, which leads me to believe the paper filter flows better.  I've read different opinions about whether the new filter was an improvement over the oiled K&N and will leave that issue for later, but it does appear that Freedom had the new filter in mind when they constructed the map for my bike.  It seems to me to make sense that the two filters would have different flow characteristics.

The price of gas hits me when I fill the truck. I don't worry about with the bike at all.  Frankly 10-20% worse fuel mileage on the SEEG isn't material compared to the 50% premium over an Ultra.  This translates to somewhere between $250 and $500 over 50K miles.  Buying a bike with a 103in motor without opening it up to perform as it was intended would be a crime.  Hell we pay far more than that for chrome doo dads.

Not yet, I'm recovering from shoulder surgery and can't ride right now. I'm hoping to do it in May. I'll be riding up to Reno and have Brad tune it then. I can tell you that the "seat of the pants" Dyno showed massive improvements over stock. I'll be sure to post the "official" sheet when I get it done.

Thanks for the imput on the gas milage.  Trust me or ask my wife, I don't ride for mileage.  Fun per gallon is the ultimate measure! [smiley=laugh.gif]

I get 35-40 mpg now depending on how close to the peg the fun meter is.  Stage one down load, air box, and Python slip-ons are the only perfomance related mods I've done so far.  I've got to get mine on a dyno to see where its at now, before I do the Freedom set up.

Well got my dyno numbers for the Freedom set-up. The base HP/TQ was unexpectedly LOW! What are the rest of you getting for your baseline numbers? I called Brad at Freedom Cycle and his first suggestion was have it dyno'd at another facility. He said basically the baseline should be 87 HP and 92-93 TQ. I checked the plugs before the mod and both were tan. When I had run on the mod for about 60 miles, they didn't have ANY carbon on them at all (good/bad??) All dyno info is SAE corrected, and I tried to include all the info on the sheet. Looking at the baseline and the mod, I got the correct proportional increase, just trying to figure out why it's not 103-105 HP and 105-108 TQ!

It's kinda strange. I was taking to Brad today and he was telling me about your bike.
No he didn't mention your name but from what he told me, IT WAS YOU.

He seemed very interested in your situation. He was telling me the increases you show are the normal increases for their package. I have to agree with him that your original #s seem low. He is waiting to hear back from you after it's dynoed again.

I have found that dyno reading can vary quite a lot depending on operator imput.
Those reading also depend on the model  of the dyno. Brad said your readings were from a Dynojet 250 which is what they use.  I believe the Freedom claim of readings were 102-103 H/P and 103-104 Torque. Your increases do seem inline with the Freedom claim. So I guess all you can do is to have it dynoed again to see where it is.

I for one am interested in hearing about your next dyno test.  I have been giving the freedom set up some serious considerstion.  I want to get mine dynoed before, with the stage one down load for the open air box and screamn eagle slip-ons.  I chose the Python slip-ons instead of the SE's because I was pretty sure they would flow better.  Although its not pefectly tuned, it made a big differance inperformance.  Iwould like to know what the dyno #s look like before I spend more on another performance upgrade.  Plus, I would have to pay to have the origonal map restored to match the PC program from Freedom.
