New SE Touring Mufflers Do Not Fit '07 SEEG, '07 SERK
« on: March 18, 2007, 01:02:56 AM »

Anyone know why the new SE Touring mufflers do not fit the '07 CVO Touring bikes?  Says so in the P&A catalog.  Been looking into them as a purchase down the road.  Kinda disappointed they aren't an option for my '07 SERK.  So guess I'm just curious.  What's so different about the SEEG/SERK where this exhaust doesn't fit these two models but fit all other '07 touring bikes?  Is it the header, the hangers, the location, etc?  Do these two bikes already have a unique SE like tuned exhaust?  Would note the '07 stock SERK exhaust is quite pleasing when under way.

Im betting they will fit just fine, while I had my stockers off tinkering a little, I tried about seven different brands holding them in place, Samsons, Supertrapps, SE 98-B's ,HD 65452-00A ,Wild Pigs ,Cycle Shack, Etc, They all match up and fit the header pipes just fine, The Stockers do sound decent, you should hear them with the Cats Gone quite a difference.

You think they would, but why does the P&A catalog say "Fits all touring models except the '07 FLHRSE3, '07 FLHTCU.." This doesn't give one confidence!  What are Cats Gone?  I guess something to remove the catalytic converter?

Im not sure why the catalogue spells that out, probably because they both use Cat Mufflers and the EPA requires such a disclaimer, Sorry I wan not more specific, I did mean that with the Catalytic Convertors removed the exaust note is much nicer. My 07 mufflers fit my 02 bike just fine so there is no reason any muffler produced after 95 should not fit the 07s

I dont know if this helps but when I first got the cuse2 I was at the same page but was trying all the different  tips for the ends. Drove the parts guy nuts.  Its a different size and configuration no matter how you slice it on the outlet side. Parts manager said the aftermarket SE slipons should fit but after all the wrong attempts I chose the reinharts.  There was doubt about the inlet side.  Some one here should have the answer in due time 8)

Your Correct, The tubes on the CVO mufflers are 4 in on the outlet end, as compared to 3.5 for the older style HD mufflers and Tips. The hangers have been altered to compensate for this varible,  the inlet pipes are the exact same size, The latest Screamin Eagle Cataloge has an assortment of 4 in tips that will fit CVO mufflers and prices are not any higher.

I bought the new tips also yet the diameter is correct but the orientation  of the mounting holes wont fit the oem mufflers. I gave up. If the inlets work then  :2vrolijk_21:

Aha, Thats what I get for assumeing anything about HD Products I glanced at the catalogue last week and assumed that the 4in street performance touring mufflers would have the same mounting holes as the OEM CVO Mufflers upon closer examination it looks like the new tips have the holes directly on the side instead of nearer the bottom like ours do, guess they dont want us to change them, thanks for the update, I would probably have bought a pair and found out the hard way.

I had Reinhardts on my 04, they were awesome looking and sounded exceptional, but my Riding Partner got herself a hearing aid and they were causing a lot of adjustments,  They were fairly loud on my 88 CI what are they like on your big block.

I have herd them on a 103 and Thought them awsome.  I am used to loud(huh?)  so dont think i'll mind. between Pink Floyd/Cerwin Vega D-9's and 30 yrs of hypo motors  its a natural. Maybe those darn deer will hear me comin :nixweiss: :nervous:

Whow that brings back memories, My Kids loved Pink Floyd, I was already an old man when they were in their prime, Seems like one of them passed away recently, Cerwin vega speakers can blow open the trunk lid on a 78 oldsmobile, Real similar to the howitzer I used to feed, I can hear pretty well except for certain octaves that escape me entirely, keep us posted on your thunder max, I was thinking about the lastest version techlusion, but the auto Tune has been getting great reviews.

Yes Dartman  from what i have read and from reviewing thier download the possibilities are endless  thus the almost 9 beans price tag.  With speakers as well as engines  theres no replacement displacement!  coupled with wicked fast electronics :2vrolijk_21:
