Iron Butt Ride

Has anyone out there done the Iron Butt 1000mile in 24hr ride.   Is it a fixed ride or do you find your own route.

Hi Smiler,

I have done several rides. The best source of information is http://www.ironbutt.com/about/default.cfm . There you
can find all the rules and regulations, as well as forms for your entry etc. In general you need not apply upfront, or
ride a certain route. You can do your own planning, and go as you please. Just make sure you have the documentation
done.

Hi Louis
Thanks for the info.  Uk roads are really busy, but I'd love to do it in the USA.  I have the idea to do a pony express ride, renting the full harley range covering 500 miles out and 500 back collecting bikes on the outward journey and returning them on the way back.
